I think the shot of the boots is a HUGE improvement over the first pic in the thread. Looks like you're making some progress, although I am definitely not good with a camera and my opinion may mean nothing.

I think you're doing well.

:EDIT: I think you pulled that pulley tensioner you gave me out of that shed a while back. ha.

Thanks muddy. Here are the results from tonight. I took my buddy out to a parking garage and snapped a few photos. I think they look much better than the first few I tried.

I think using the bracketing setting helped a lot. I think the camera was moving when I was adjusting the shutter speed for the next shot. The lighting in the garage was very yellow so most of the pictures look all yellow.

I borrowed a tripod.

i see a lot of progress from the beginning of this thread to now... the new ones are better than i could ever do. and i love how motivated you are.

i'd be curious to see a during the day shot (with sky/clouds included) when it's not overcast.

Yea Seems like it's been overcast since I got the camera. Hopefully the clouds will clear up soon.

Merge to HDR in Photoshop, tone map in Photomatix.

ok I'll take a look.

Does anyone know if there is a filter or fisheye attachment that would fit on my camera? Here is a picture of what looks to be clipping points for attachments.

^nice.

as for the fisheye, see what size your filter ring/lens size is and the size of the fisheye attachment.

but the rule of thumb is to stay far away from them as they dont produce very results, but can give you that cool look........ kinda

Here is what i do...
  • I shoot my HDR images in Aperture priority...
  • Set my desired Aperture, according to what DOF i want.
  • Turn on AEB, and set it to how many stops i want.
  • Set my camera to continuous drive mode.
  • Compose image on my tripod.
  • Push and hold my shutter release and it takes the 3 images back to back with out having to let off the Shutter button.

Here is one of my first attempts, a little heavy on the tone mapping but whatever. lol

I merge the images together in photoshop, and i have the Photomatix plug for PS as well.
