The first four and the 3rd to last turned out awesome. Huge improvement from your last photos! I really like the first pic but I think it would have turned out better if the building was a bit more to the left in the dead space (don't forget the rule about things growing out of your car!). Also, the challenger looks two different colors in the 1st two pics...don't forget to adjust your white balance based on the lighting. Regardless, those are some nice shots!

Thanks! That shot of the challenger at night was a tough one. I have pictures of when I was at the shore this past weekend that you may be impressed with too. It's on my flickr. None of it has anything to do with cars though

definitely getting better with each post.

but i must say, im not sure what your editing with, im guessing iPhoto by the look of some of the photos, i would say dont go to over board with adjusting the highlights. the clouds are killing some of the pics imo.

Yea I use iPhoto mainly because I like how it keeps my pictures organized. Aperture has been pretty confusing to me

never used aperture, found out about lightroom and only iPhoto occasionally, when the pictures dont really matter.

just try not to go overboard with the highlights.

yup, just something to keep in mind.

as for lightroom, it was intimidating at first, but once you play around with it, you'll get hooked. lots of awesome features and very user friendly, imo

i personally always like go long lens with cars.. I'm no expert or anything but a 85-135mm range on a fast lens always seem to render good results. Look at some of the good photographers on here flickr's. Read the exif's. See what different focal length bring with different apertures. then experiment. Having a more blurred background will make the car stand out more. I always like to think that I'm taking a picture of a CAR, not a cool background with a car in it. I looked through your flickr though and a lot of your shots from meets and what not look good. Try out that 55-200 go a little longer (if possible) and see what you get. Like I said, I'm no expert like some of the guys on here if I'm false on my input then someone please correct me.

I have the Canon 50mm 1.8II, horrible build quality, but nothing beats a fast prime and 50mm is a great focal length.

Skip the 50 prime. Go right for the Nikkor 35mm/1.8 AF-S.
