McKinnon's Functional WRX build thread

Well my original plans for a wrx were lowering it with the perfect fitment for the track and blah blah blah.
Well after cracking a front bumper and even struggling to putt around town or offroad I decided that ill go a different route than most y'all on here.
So my plan that I am working towards now is to make a functional, offroad capable, rough road capable wrx.

I did a more proper shoot of the car since i got the wheels.

Done already:
Invidia n1 duals
rally armor flaps
team dynamics wheels and general grabbers tires
roofracks

Plans are:
Tinted windows
Taillight overlays and headlight housings painted
PIAA fogs mounted on either of the rally innovations light bars
the light bar for said lights
Either ksport gravel spec suspension or feal gravel suspension to lift the car about 2 inches and increase offroad ability.
Then by then hopefully the warranty will be done and I can do engine mods which I haven't bothered to tease myself with because I want to keep my warranty for now.

well those tires are really the only off road thing you've done to it, are you gonna put a cage in it?

No that wouldn't serve much of a purpose unless i was doing some actual rally racing, i wouldn't even need that for rallycross events. lol…..
As i mentioned above that i plan on getting a good off road suspension and auxiliary lights then plan on more power. Its obviously not done yet.

I assume they will, just like in 08 when you could only get the STi in hatch. I would be willing to bet it will come back.

On another note, nice car man. Im looking forward to seeing more.

The Ksport gravel coils are garbage, a lot of the GVR4 guys have tried to run them and inevitably wind up with HotBits. I'd honestly go with Feal if they offer a set for your car; they know what's what and are fairly respected suspension tuners.

I hope so! The interior seems much nicer on the newer ones.
And thanks! I have to find a good spot this week for some shots with my real camera.

Are they really? damn that sucks I know a guy who just bought them.. haha thanks for that insight! they are the same price as the feals too. The only issue I see with the feals is the camber plates. They are apparently a major no-no in the rallycross world due to them being weak.

if you're looking for camber plates, you should check out Raceseng's super beefy/function product. but fitment is only for the brz at the moment, but i know that they confirmed fitment for wrxs, i just can't remember what years. if they fit your chassis, it would be well worth the cost.
