lincense plate in my back window

i was wondering if it is legal to have my plate in my back window. it would only be during day light hours. the reason i ask is my car got rear ended and my trunk is too crushed to put my plate on

license plates are to be securely fastened to the registered vehicle, so having it in your back window could get you stopped
