My 2010 Challenger R/T - Holy $#!+

So I sold the Legacy after some transmission issues and picked up a 2010 Dodge Challenger R/T... hemi orange with the intake and exhaust already done and tuned. A deal I couldn't say no to, I got it for 31,000 from East Hartford, CT.

Over 400 horsies of American Muscle, V8 pushrod winning. A total cop magnet, and not bad lookin either.

Only 1200 miles on the odometer.

So I promised myself I would not modify the vehicle in any way (power-train) because it's fine as it is... already came with the CAI and header back exhaust done. I believe this is the Loudmouth 2 design, not sure, but from what I saw in pictures I believe it is.

I get the first oil change done free, and from what I hear, the oil filter from the factory is on so friggin tight you might as well have them do it anyway. My first OCI will be at 5k, then I'll be switching to Amsoil synthetic and Amsoil oil filter for it. It has the same part number as the WIX filter but the amsoil has higher ratings for some reason. With my legacy I had great luck with Motul fluids, but no one carries it and I am tired of $12 a quart for oil. Amsoil let me sign up for wholesale pricing, so I'll just get a drum and be done with it for a while.

Saw someone else's Chally and liked the setup:

Kinda diggin the shaker hood but I still like my 'naked' hood better. The side scoops and the trunk stripe aren't too bad. Guy said he used the 3M CF stuff for the stripes on the car and it comes out well.

Not feelin the classic badging though.

Dear god you've made it hideous. Did they have a sale at autozone?

How long until you beat the crap out of it street racing and then complaining about it failing?

No mods on this one, it comes with good parts from the factory!

Bringing it to the dealership after work today. I can't seem to get the "Home/page" button to work on the steering wheel. chances are, the option was never there to begin with, but why would they put the button on the wheel?

It's supposed to cycle between MPG/time/trip timer/temp and other features, including best 1/4 60' 0-60 and other times.

I believe it's called the EVIC computer.

Looks nice, and the "pep boys brake ducts" aren't what you think they are. The 1971 Challenger R/T had , non-functional, brake ducts just like those in the photos, so its not really rice its more of a tribute. The Shaker hood was also an option on the 70/71 Challenger.

I'll try to get it to a dyno for actual numbers, but the car was used with 1200 miles on it as a trade in when the guy who bought it (on a whim) traded it back in for his 2008 Corvette when the dealership's other chevy branch delivered it. In those 1200 miles the guy had brought it to an actual speed shop and had the car tuned along with a CAI headers and headerback exhaust. I'll dig for the paperwork but it was stated somewhere of just over 400 HP with these at point of sale.

I, for one, will not be doing ANY mods on the vehicle.

As for the weight and handling, this handles infinitely better than the charger, and the weight is 'just right' IMO... if the vehicle were any lighter it would be all over the road like a mustang off the line. The car surprisingly feels crisp and responsive. While I can't take corners like I could in the AWD legacy, I have zero complaints as of yet for it's performance and handling.

But then again, I do live in new england and it hasn't snowed yet.

I will be investing in a good set of snow tires and wheels for winter. The stock rims are 20's... I think I can do 18's safely but that has to be fact checked.

Moroso wants about 700 for the STS shifter and carbon fiber pistol grip (I think it's moroso). Very tempting. It's literally a bolt on upgrade and wildy suggested by other challenger owners.

I actually like the feel of the stock pistol grip shift but I don't care for the 1st to 2nd gear shift block that happens. I'm not sure if it's just me, or if it's something like gear sync that's blocking it, but sometimes I have to go 1st to 3rd because 2nd gear won't seem to let it in.
