Exhaust gasket round 2 makes me SO UPSET

Ok after putting 10 + hours into getting my gaskets replaced in my gfs garage, (takes so long cuz no room to bolt stuff up and take stuff off)

HUGE PITA....

this was what the last one looked like

I put some reusable soft aluminium gaskets in... i figured they'd seat pretty good...

they were pretty cheaply made because bolts didnt even line up right for 2.50" so we had to make holes a little bigger because they didnt line up close at all...

well outcome of Chipped SRT4 vs. GA i pulled 1 car until i blew my gasket right out again... i dont understand why it keeps blowing out, its only on 6 psi

It sounds like your flanges may be warped possibly? Shouldn't be blowing out like that.

Visually you would never be able to tell, but if the flange is warped, either one, it will keep blowin gaskets out. If you look all around the gasket, are there any black spots that are REALLY dark that look like the stuff on the inside of your muffler? (the black soot?) If so, its leaking and thats causing it to blow out

I really don't think they are my manifolds, because; it didnt tick or anything when i fixedthem i drove around all that night until i was WOT for awhile than it blew out.. its really hard to see because my downpipe goes right over my rear manifold. where it connects to the pipe that connects both manifolds... i don't have time to rip anything down for awhile, nor the money so I'll just have to wait till later.

WOTing (lol) makes things hot.

Hot things Expand (especially cheap metal)

Your gasket blows out.

Its the cheap material used in your manifold.

I would have the flanges checked for straightness. If the gasket blew out like in the first pic then there is a possiblity that the flange is warped.

i think they were ****ty bolts to be honest, gaskets were cheaply made to... didnt even fit up right, we had to do some modding to get them to fit... and headers are custom made, they never made a full bolt on turbo kit but trust me the guy that built these headers knew what he was doing, he ran this same exact setup for 2 years, on 15 psi. I'm thinkin its the bolts though, maybe loosening up and blowing them out.. but we made them so tight we couldnt turn them anymore, but than again we did it to last set and that blew out

+1 for uneven flange surfaces

try using high temp RTV or stove sealer

If you overtighten an exhaust flange, you can warp the flange.
