tranceporter's ap2 s2000 (finally boosted, pics @ post #85)

don't mind the compressed fb images and mess of iphone & camera pics

bye bye gti

her first trip to wawa

her first morning home
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pj1hFURrzug

making new friends with my buddy's imported rhd fd3s

i thought this was funny. banging rice pudding

her first wash

my goal was to get the car ready for redline time attack @ njmp

so now we start off with pads, ss lines, and motul fluid all around

the trunk ricing begins

the audio left something to be desired for so i ordered a few things

alpine cda-117 headunit
jl 8w3v3 enclosed in it's own box
re-used my old jl 500/1 amp

first time firing it up
http://www.facebook.com/video/video....subj=198603251

cleaned up all the wiring
http://www.facebook.com/video/video....subj=198603251

took her to her first meet and my friend says he didn't see my car because it was too low and backs into it with his evo

before he macked into my car i ordered an oem ap2 lip

got tired of the amber sidemarkers and swapped them out for oem clear

next step in getting the car ready for time attack

buddy club n+ coilovers

more trunk ricing

now added to the tire changing kit. 4 pieces of 2x4's

pride performance, great guys and excellent work

relaxing at home after detailing her

getting the alignment done the day before time attack

before rolling out to njmp

my sponsors

safety.. required for time attack. don't worry it came out right after

@ njmp
filling out the reg forms @ 6:30am

taken off redline's website. me half awake at 7:30am looking into the tech garage

getting inspected and finding out i'm too low and i could of either raised the car or be bumped up to modified class. too lazy to raise it so mod class here i come..

all ready for mod class

a few practice laps
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ck83CR8T2Wc

pics taken by 88TSI_Rob. thanks man!

coming up next the front bumper is getting fixed, lip is being installed and the car is going to be debadged and shaved. pics will come as it happens

here are some better pics off my dslr, thanks for looking

stock

Nice car.

I cant really see how the fire extinguisher is secured, but I hope its more than just that net. Dont want to see you get hurt.

s2000's are extremely fun. my gti made double the tq to the wheels but i've never driven anything this fun. i was a little nervous about rwd but since this car makes a handful of tq, you have to work it to make the rear kick out. the grip this car has is insane

thanks adam!

thanks

we tried mounting it but there was no where to mount it properly so we shoved it in there. it made it through tech inspection and thankfully it never moved when i was on the track. yanked it right out when i got home. the overload of stickers and fire extinguisher in my car, i felt like a ricer

Nice car man. It is coming along very nice. I kinda feel that you were a little out classed going into the modified class lol. Good stuff tho. Looked like you had a blast.

it was a lot of fun but next time i'm running in my proper class. i placed 4th in modified rwd but that was out 6 cars. the 6th car was a DNF and the 5th car was a dodge viper acr that i guess was the guy's first time out? even in practice he never lapped faster than what he pulled for the actual time attack. the s2000 that placed 3rd was an ap1 with cf fenders, hood, wider stickier tires on enkei rpf1's and from what i saw had at least bolt on's. i'm happy for how i did for it being my first time on a track with a stock s2000 with coilovers. the 2nd and 1st place cars were full out race cars. again, awesome first experience, i'll be better prepared next time.

sucks we can't use sig's here, made this out of 88TSI_Rob's pics

Nice! I'm glad to see I got a couple nice shots of your car out there.

I shot some video too and it looks like I have a couple shots of you going into that turn after the bridge. I need to do some editing to it, but when I upload it I'll post a link here.

Love the s2k. Im really considering one just as a track car after I move in July.

What ya doing in Staten Island? I work 2 days a week not to far from Tottenville. My dad actually works in Tottenville.

Keep up the great progression.

i was like that too in the beginning but it's actually not that bad when you're lower. as long as you stay out of the 5 borough's you'll be alright. even if you do just keep your eyes on the road for pot holes and drive like a grandma. you'll hear a lot of scraping but 99% of the time it's just the rubber mud flaps so it's nothing to be too concerned about.

thanks, i would def recommend picking one up as a track car. you can pick up an ap1 for relatively cheap and they're rawer for track use and the extra 1k redline may not sound like much but it'll keep you in the powerband when you're going through fast corners.

i actually work right next to tottenville in prince's bay. my family has a coffee roasting, coffee machine repair company on sharrotts rd off authur kill road. my gf actually lives in tottenville off amboy and wood. her father has the dry cleaning place there. i'm usually rolling around in my beater '95 jeep grand cherokee but this week i'm rolling around in the s since the jeep is in for maintenance. shoot me a wave or hit me with highbeams if you see me

after the front bumper gets fixed, i'm going to lower the rears a bit and the front already lowered a bit from settling. i'm going to leave the v2's on for this summer as i save up for some motor work. they look a little better in person but v1's are still where it's at.
