Presidential Debate

is anyone watching this terrible debate? this is honestly a joke and its the reason I dont pay attention to politics until Nov despite being a political science major and having a ton of time invested in the topic. the things that are being said between these two is just laughable.

exactly. the debates are supposed to be a time when real subjects are being discussed in a professional manner. nothing about this debate has been professional.

Only watched the last hour of it.

Like the end when both were talking at the same time and OB just gave up.

Still would have not idea who to vote for if I was able to vote.

Pathetic.

I used to lean towards McCain because I agreed with his views.

After the debate, I find it tragic that these are the only two top candidates that the US has. However, I find myself, as pathetic as it sounds, leaning towards McCain because his answers were slightly better than that stuttering bafoon Obama's. So much for a rhetorician.

exactly. these debates are and continue to be a ****in pissing match between two candidates and never get anything accomplished. having studied the subject, its really annoying as well as frustrating to see how these debates are handled.

edit: again, its the lesser of two evils which is unreal to me

I think Ron Paul would actually have a shot right now, with the whole bailout thing happening.

I thought he was saying Jim because that was the guy's name who was throwing out the topics.

Are you referring to Obama being all sweaty, tapping his hands, interrupting McCain multiple times, and not being able to get together a complete thought "chill"?????

I'm just going to assume that you put the names in the wrong places in that paragraph, otherwise it makes absolutely no sense.

Anyway, again, the entire thing was pathetic. It wasn't just that nobody said anything, it was the entire format.

Jim was the name of the guy asking the Qs. He was going Um Jim, John, Jim when McCain started his twisting of obamas words.

I also thought Obama was chill and had it together for the most part.

I watched the same debate you did. BOTH messed up and stumbled that night. McCain interrupted just as much. I didnt notice any sweat either?

I also thought Obama was chill for the most part.

IMO, Obama is putting on an act for the citizens so he can get the title of President. McCain has experience backed behind him,but to me it sounds like he isn't sure about what he wants to do. I do not like how both candidates did not speak a lot about the economy until AIG closed. That is when they started to talk about. Being a good candidate for president, they should have known about the issues in the economy and addressed them.

In 2005, McCain co-sponsered S-190, otherwise known as the "Federal Housing Enterprise Regulatory Reform Act of 2005".

Here is a direct quote of McCain...

Quote:
I join as a cosponsor of the Federal Housing Enterprise Regulatory Reform Act of 2005, S. 190, to underscore my support for quick passage of GSE regulatory reform legislation. If Congress does not act, American taxpayers will continue to be exposed to the enormous risk that Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac pose to the housing market, the overall financial system, and the economy as a whole.

I urge my colleagues to support swift action on this GSE reform legislation.

The bill never gained ground, thanks to both the democratic and republican party.

With campaign contributions well over $100,000 given to OBAMA from Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac (as well as countless millions accepted by politicians as a whole), it's no wonder that the bill never got traction.
