Check out THIS presidential nominee!

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ron_Paul

So far I am ALL about this guy. He has a strong non-partisan voting record in limiting federal government functions and spending. No matter what the issue, he thinks about the taxpayers first. What that means is the federal govenrment would never have even considered puting their political mits or money into issues like gay marriage, abortion, health care, or stem cell research. How wonderful would it be if the federal government wasn't looking to take every cent you make and turn it into some regulation, funding, or politician's perk.

He recieved 400,000 votes running as a libritarian last election and he stands to get a lot more running as a republican. I just hope he stands a chance.

Yes...so because I was born in the ukraine, and raised there for a while, I could come back there when I am 40, and run for president correct? even though my adult life was spent in the US

Born, raised, and educated in PA. Finished his college education in Michigan, moved to Texas began political career... Tell me what bearing location has on his ability to make good decisions about what taxpayer's money should fund?

And if you read the Wiki article you would notice he has DISagreed with our texan president on many issues. And not because of morality, ethics, or party affiliation but because of MONEY. The most important and forgotten about part of the federal government's responsibility.

Deciding against a candidate based on where they held office is about the same as deciding against them based on eye color. No bearing whatsoever.

Im not deciding against him..I am yet to vote for my first time in 2008. I guess what I said was a biased statement though.

Since when has a congressman won a presidential election? I'm not sure, but i doubt it happens much. And besides, what else does he have to offer us besides his hard stance toward pork-barrel projects?
