Exactly how much are you trying to spend? I know a certain white bugeye that would go if the right price was givin.

You can't really tell with the trans. Just read around in the subaru area, forget who it was but he granny shifted 2-3 and it just grenaded. Subaru trannies are fun.

If you want a WRX, I would reccomend the 03s since in 02, those are the stereotypical "glass" trannsmissions. I don't know what they changed but over on nasioc people think that the 03s are better than the 02s for whatever reason

14-15k is basically the perfect price range for a bugeye if thats what you want. It is also the perfect price range to pick up an RS shell and swap it.

You know you want teh GC hotness

Not saying the 03s are better than the 02s, you will grenade the trans if you go over stock power levels anyway no matter what year. The 04/05s got the RA gear treatment 1-3, so it helps, but it's still not perfect. Its just that there seems to be a less frequency of grenaded trans' with the MY03s at slightly over stock power levels

i killed my05 trans at 15k. It really all depends on how the car was driven.

The swap really isn't that hard...You could do a full STi Swap into the 2.5 and get the 6-Speed tranny which you will not easily destroy!

Everything will bolt right up. Swap to a turbo crossmember and drop the engine in. If you want to switch to RHD you can buy a clip and everything will bolt right in, 100%. You will need someone to cut a piece out of the firewall but thats it.

Keeping LHD everything bolts right in still (crossmember swap still needed) but you need to merge harnesses. Not hard if you have both diagrams but it's a bitch since there are a lot of wires. Area1320 does swaps. Give em a chassis and a motor and they'll give you a running, swapped RS.

You can turbo the motor but the compression is like 10:1 and the HGs suck. Enjoy

You can also get a wrecked USDM WRX/STi and even swap in the new dash. No harness mangling needed then. You will need to use the USDM dash beam though I believe.
