Another Subaru Build

I previously had a '96 Outback sport but scrapped it because of rust and swore I was done with Subaru's. We all know that's not true. I picked up this '02 GT Limited. No rust which was a great selling point for me.

Previous owner said there was a front axle / differential issue? which I haven't dove into yet and a small titling problem. Both aren't large issues and should be resolved rather quickly.

Plans for the car are generally simple. Some JDM bits, coilovers, wheels and an exhaust. I just want a simple cruiser.

Bad news : Trans is either bad or I have an exploded axle somewhere. Haven't dove into it yet. When in the air and in drive, none of the wheels move and theres a clunking noise coming from the front.

Good News :

I need to find two more with the same specs : 17x9 +45

I figured this would match nicely with the trim in the car.

Debating on just going with a set of H&R springs for now or holding out for a used set of 04+ coilovers / New ones from BC.

It only needs to look good. Being able to you know...move, is just details.

After owning a forester I don't think we will own another subaru. They are good cars until they are broken.

Anyway. I always surprised at how light the legacy was for a midsize sedan. They actually make good all around vehicles. AWD, roomy rear seat, handle pretty well when done right, and are a turbo away from decent power.

It's definitely light..pushing it out of the garage made me realize that lol Also didn't realize that overseas these chassis were pretty well supported as well. Even Porsche had it's hands on the Blitzen version.

Well sorry to disappoint I don't have facebook or instagram. I picked up a parts car so I can get this on the road. Hoping to get both into the garage on my next weekend off and get everything sorted.

They suck when they break lol Doesn't bother me too much. I'm good friends with Ryan from Area1320 which helps so I have a knowledge base to pick at when needed.

IMO they're not that bad. Once you get to know them they are actually somewhat simple. the only 2 things that really are a pain are spark plugs, and removing the long bolt from the rear hubs.

Last time I did head gaskets we had it out, repaired, and driving in like 6 hours. Unfortunately.... I've had lots of practice.

I helped a friend do spark plugs on a legacy wagon years and years ago. It shows the design flaw of these engines, and I vowed never to work on another Subby ever again.

Though to be fair, doing spark plugs on my Juke is no walk in the park. Hell even 1 or 2 plugs on the Z31 are a pain in the ass. Why are spark plugs so damn annoying on so many cars?!?!?

I agree- they're certainly simple, just a PITA. 6hrs on a subaru vs 6hrs on an E30 are two very different 6hrs. But.....I just did valve cover gaskets a few months ago so I have at least another year of subaru hate speak in me

Sorry for the interruption, back to the scheduled programming sleeper.
