Montgomeryville Home Depot....Plasma Tv

The montgomeryville home depot is selling 50" Maganvox Plasma HDTV's for something like $1100. I don't know how many they have left.

They are actually VERY nice tv's, the cheapest I could find the same model was $2100, with the average being closer to 3000. I just wanted to give a heads up since it's too big for what I'm looking for.

It was a 1366 x 768 with either 10,000:1 or 15,000:1 contrast, and a 1500 brightness level. I don't remember anything else.

Stood there the Monday night and debated it for about 15 minutes myself.
If I was driving the wife's truck, I think I would have pulled the trigger.

I really need something more in the 42"/max range.

I'm thinking there might be some great deals after Christmas.

It cant be 15000:1 Contrast. I am a TV salesman. It is prob 10000:1 which is amazing, for that price i would def buy it. it is a little suspcious though

You are correct, it's 10000:1, I just got it confused with the brightness of 1500. There is nothing shady about it though, that's what they are selling for. HIGH quality TV with a reasonable price. Plus, I think LG makes the Magnavox also (I know they make about 5 different brands, you would know the exact ones most likely).

And dolphin, I had the same problem. I REALLY want a GOOD plasma (OR lcd) for my bedroom, but 50" is just too big. I don't want any bigger than 42", would prefer 36". I was trying to justify buying it (maybe replacing the 52" DLP in the basement to wall mount, but it's just too damn good of a picture to get rid of). In the end, I couldn't justify buying and just wanted to pass on. They are probably all gone by now.

I bought one tonight. It's 1,995 and when you open up a credit card with them it's 200 off. so 1775. It's a nice TV, broadcasts in 780 and 1080i. I'll be hooking up the xbox 360 to it soon.

I'm not really too tech savvy when it comes to TV's, but it this a flat TV, like wall mountable? Or is it the deep projection type?
