How well-mannered was the cop? If he didn't seem too outraged, my guess is he'll knock it down to 20 over (55 in a 35) and you'll pay a few hundred dollars + points
Just my guess...unless he pulled you over and was like 'wtf were you thinking' I did 35 in a 15mph school zone before, and the cop was cool and knocked it down, but i didn't have any previous points like you do....let us know how it goes, you're never the first to be in a crummy situation like this

nah he was pretty outraged. He said he gunned me at 88 and thats what it says on the ticket. I dont know how that transfers to trying to get it knocked down in court--- but i tried to be as nice as possible but i guess he didnt want to hear it...

sounds like you'll have a ball in court. judge was pretty pissed at me in court, but the officer did lower the charge. I would contact the officer before your court date, apologize, and ask him if he would consider lowering the charge if indeed it's a mandatory court appearence.
talk to officer, plead not guilty to lesser charge, get ready for judge to ream you

ok so after a little research this is what I got.
In delaware at the speed I was going, if i just plead guilty I will be losing my privilege do drive in the state of de. (which ****s me because i work in dover) Delaware and jersey have whats called an interstate compact, which allows the sharing of driver information between states. THis being said, I have a ticket in jersey I just got for a right on red thats 3 points. They will know about it. Whats even worse is that they will send the ticket back to jersey and worst case scenario, the jersey dmv can decide whether or not they want to revoke my jersey license. Whats even better is the particular court I am going (which my trial is 3 months away) if its just a speeding ticket you dont talk to the prosecutor. You talk to the cop who pulled you over. YOu can imagine how happy he is to have to be tehre like that. GREAT Soooooooooo... best case scenraio vs worst case scenario Best case scenario---I go to court and the cop doesnt show... but we know thats going to happen so heres the real best case scenario. I go to court, and the cop agrees to knock down the ticket to something lower--- which is most likely going to be somethign with either a higher fine, or just without the supsension of my license. Im about a couple hundred bucks, and my insurance is going to cop a large woody and proceed to stick it so far up my ass I can taste the pine tree it was made out of. WOrst case scenario. The cop shows up, calls me an idiot, and refuses to do anything about the ticket. He asks for the highest possible fine which in my case is 230+court costs, and asks if the court can add any additional fees. In thereafter he will support the revokation of my license in delaware, and make sure that the proper paperwork gets sent to jersey. When jersey dmv finds out they will recomend that because of the high speed my license be suspend there too. Now I am stuck in newark without a way to get to work. I get fired, and kicked out of my house then develop an addiction to heroin, where I proceed to get shot during a bad deal. ****

Same thing happened to me a couple weeks ago. Except I was doing 60 in a 30. The cop told me the Dmv may call me in for an interview, which basically would discuss if I get to keep my license or not. Either way good luck, and I hope everything works out for you.

I got pulled over on a back road off of kirkwood highway. I paid the ticket, just mailed it in. I didn't have to go to court or anything, but the dmv is supposed to call me in for an interview.

In PA I got a ticket for a 93 in a 55. I payed the ticket, got 5 points and my license suspended for 2 weeks. I had to meet with someone at the DMV too. I could have gotten a "working license" so I could drive to work but I chose not to.
Don't know if that helps?

well the only reason is the fact that I have to get to work-- so i could actually use that---but the whole goal here is to not get ****ed as hard as the original 88 in a 35.
and heres a lil twist--- since my license is in jersey, and i got the ticket in de--- im worried about getting my privilages revoked in de AND losing my license in NJ---

I have my fair share of point on my license, if you get a lawyer it is likely they can help you out. My last court visit was for 73 in a 55, which in nj is a 4 point offense and would've put me beyond the limit and had my license suspended for 6 months and god only knows what done to my insurance. Paid for a lawyer, he had me take a defensive driving class (since your license is still NJ it means knocking 2 points off your current amount), in court talked with the prosecutor (not sure how this will help since you say you will be dealing directly with the cop?) but along with me having completed the course and his help, my ticket was dropped to a careless driving or something along those lines (0 points and just extra fines for the favor). All in all it cost me about 1g but i still have my license and my insurance isnt affected by that last interaction. Best wishes tho dude, sorry to hear about the bad luck.

You may have an even larger problem on your hands when you get to court....like explaining to the judge why you have an NJ DL and Delaware insurance. You need an attorney ASAP! I rarely recomend a lawyer but you have a lot to lose here. Tell us more about your transition from Delaware to NJ.....you only have a short time to transition all of your documents including car insurance or else you potentially face a face fraud charge in NJ.

The insurance is based on where you drive your car the most. SInce I live in delaware I dont think it is a problem at all. My permanant address is still in jersey aka where i get my bills and major documents sent because I dont trust sending them where I am now.
Anyway, unless your an insurance specialist and know the facts try not to scare the **** out me any further-- I am already in a jam and it sucks enough. and Toyotatat! help me out man! haha im dyin here...Also, I was lookin into Probation before judgement because its my first offense in delaware after living here for going on my 5th year.... anyone have experience?
