Picked myself up a Cavy around that time and that helped greatly. It felt odd putting $30 dollars into my Cavy last time i filled up. Remember when I put $20 dollars in and gas was pouring out of tank. Thankfully I can get like 3 weeks out of a tank in my Cavy so was worth the pickup. If gas keeps going up I guess that just means I gotta work harder.. can't complain being I need gas to get me around.

Two weeks ago, I was paying $2.97. On my way home today, it was $3.25. The rate of increase definitely had me do a double-take.
Can't really complain, though. Prices are cheaper here than many other places. Plus, my tank is small so my weekly trips to the gas station don't hurt too much. XD |

Exactly...people will complain but keep paying it. The infrastructure for alternative fuels just isn't there.

none of us will see gasoline engines disappear in our lifetimes. I'd say our grandkids or great-grandkids first car probably won't be gas-powered, but maybe a hybrid.

**** you obama and your new bills. IMO, we need to drill everywhere we can and tell saudi arabia to go **** itself and stop building palaces on our dollars. middle eastern fuel is killing us. (sorta like how we ban hemp production and keep cutting down forests....even though its the BEST natural fiber....) get ready, its never getting better. at least not with the people we have running sht

E85 is still under $3, doubt it will go up that much. So I'm good with the hatch. I've already got my bike, it may take premium, but 45mpg is always nice.
Looks like I'm gonna have a lot of fun this summer.

people that plan on buying a bike to offset gas prices should seriously rethink it. You're going to spend a couple thousand dollars for the bike, plus the insurance to cover said bike, just so you dont have to fill up as much.
it pretty much becomes a wash at that point.

I have 56K. No, I'm not joking. No, I can't get anything else. I have tried.
Anyway, I just think it's funny at this point. OMG, xxx middle eastern country is at unrest trying to overthrow it's government. Let's play a game, pretend: -That it's really that much more difficult to get oil. -That we don't have a huge oil reserve that will last us 40+ years. -That we aren't sitting on the worlds largest oil field (even if it is shale). Nope, a few protests in some far away country that cuts 1% of the oil supply to the entire world and ZOMG $5 oil prices! **** you!

If you look at it this way. Pick up a cheap reliable bike for a grand. insurance is maybe 20-30 a month if you have a good record. more importantly EVERY SINGLE summer gas gets more expensive, so every summer you will have an enjoyably efficient transport. between instant fuel savings and fun factor i'd say its a worthwhile idea, so long as storage is available to you in the off season ninja edit, i think the bike would count as a multi-policy or multi-vehicle, thus bigger discount...
