Quick Tire question..

Currently on my car i have 195/50 r15 tires..im picking up another set of stock alloys and getting new tires as well..im going to go with 195/60 r15's..

my question is..the difference in tire size, what is it exactly? the height of the wheel or sidewall? i know the ones i have on now look stupid small.

The "50" and "60" are the aspect ratios. On the same width tire, the higher the aspect ratio the taller the sidewall. I say "on the same width tire" since the sidewall height of the tire is actually the width number (195) multiplied by the aspect ratio (as a decimal).

So a 195/50 has sidewall height of 195mm X 0.5 = 97.5mm (3.84 inches). A 195/60 has sidewall height of 195 X 0.6 = 117mm (4.6 inches).

In your example, the wheel is always 15 inches diameter. To get the overall tire height, add twice the sidewall height (since top and bottom) to the wheel diameter.
