police van almost killed me!!!!

so uhhhh, monday around 8pm me and a few coworkers were on our way back to work from our dinner break, coming up macdade blvd just past "not just wings" a burgandy saturn flies by us going the opposite direction, he was doin atleast 70mph, and i said to my boys, "holy **** that guys goin fast!!!, i kno a cop had to see that" and like a second later 2 cops are comin from the same direction goin just as fast, so im thinkin hes just speeding and they went after him... so we get to the light at macdade and w. knowels ave. and were sittin there traffic in both lanes on each side, im the first car at the light in the left lane, so over the horizon, like 10 more cop cars, darby, collingdale, glenolden, yeadon, and maybe even colwyn come speedin down macdade, swurve through the intersection around the traffic in their lane and around us in our, well... an poice can from darby comes speedin down the road, swurves into my lane and is coming straight at us, theres no way goin the speed he was goin, he was gonna make that turn back into his lane..... i had no where to go, they guy in the lane to my right wouldnt move to let me get over, so i got over as much as i could kinda crooked across his lane infront of him, idk what the cars behind me did, but he woulda hit me, and making the turn at the speed he did, i could see the van almost tip, the wheels on the passenger side almost came off the ground. it was crazy... well i still didnt find out completely what happened but found this online, anyone hear about it????

In the end, new tires or a ticket costs more than Atco. Street racing is dumb. Retarts with time do it because they THINK they have an excuse.

CLIFTON HEIGHTS - An Upper Darby man's seven-minute joyride ended badly when he crashed a stolen car into a concrete barrier outside the Burger King in Glenolden.
Richard McHugh is charged with theft, receiving stolen property, assault, unauthorized use of automobiles, resisting arrest, DUI and related offenses in connection with the incident that took place around 8 p.m. Monday.
The owner of the 1997 Saturn told police she parked at the 7-Eleven on Baltimore Avenue in Clifton Heights around 7:55 p.m. and went inside, leaving her keys in the car. When she left the store, the car was gone.
A witness told police he saw a man get into the car and drive away, according to the affidavit of probable cause written by Sgt. Timothy Rockenbach. A description of the stolen vehicle was broadcast over police radio.
At 7:59 p.m., Darby Borough Officer David Cuddhy spotted the car and attempted to make a traffic stop. The driver, later identified as McHugh, sped off with Cuddhy in pursuit, the affidavit states.
Collingdale Officer Patrick Kilroy was driving in the direction of the pursuit and saw the stolen car on MacDade Boulevard in Glenolden, according to the affidavit. McHugh allegedly forced Kilroy's patrol car off of the road. Kilroy made a U-turn and joined in the chase.
As McHugh sped off, he allegedly struck a car at Clifton Avenue and MacDade Boulevard, causing minor damage. Continuing to flee at about 70 mph, McHugh allegedly struck two more vehicles at MacDade Boulevard and Cook Avenue.
Undeterred, McHugh continued toward MacDade and South Avenue, where he allegedly struck a vehicle stopped for traffic, according to police. McHugh lost control of the Saturn and slammed into a concrete barrier at the Burger King restaurant at the MacDade Mall, according to the affidavit. The stolen car came to rest in the parking lot of the adjacent Commerce Bank.
McHugh allegedly jumped out of the car and tried to get car keys from a female bank customer. When the woman retreated, McHugh confronted another bank patron. The man fought back as Cuddhy and Kilroy arrived at the scene. After putting up a fight, McHugh was taken into custody at 8:02 p.m., according to the affidavit.
He was transported to Crozer-Chester Medical Center's trauma unit for treatment of injuries he received when he crashed the car into the concrete abutment.
Magisterial District Judge Michael Cullen arraigned McHugh at his hospital bedside. Cullen set bail at $100,000.

I truely believe that if you leave the keys in the car it shouldn't be considered stolen.

You should be told you are dumb and sent on your way.

Haha I agree! Even if I step in the house for 5 minutes I lock up, and I live in the country.

yea i rarely leave my car running, even at my one job where theres normaly never anyone coming through, but occasionaly there will be a crackhead or two tryin to scrap some metal from our dumpster.... i work at a factory next to boeing and scrapping is big down there, not too much on our lot because we normaly dont have anything, but once or twice i have had a run in with a fiend out near the dumpster, we carry hammers and such on our forklift when we ride out there for just that reason.... but they rarely come closer to the plant where we park, if i need to warm the car up or cool it down before leaving, i normaly bring my valet key and arm the system after i start it up.... but leaving the keys in your car, with the car open, is just idiotic. this reminds me.... i need to get a remote starter installed on my car.
