parking boot

i always visit my friends college but never sign in for a parking pass because its a pain in the ass, it hasnt happened yet but sometimes they will boot your car, there is no warning signs in the parking lot for parking without a permit and its private property. im just wondering what is the legal status on picking the lock and dropping the boot off in front of the security office so it doesnt get stolen? im sure they will be pissed but is there anything they can do besides charge me with criminal trespassing if i go back? this campus doesnt have its own police force like drexel or temple so i dont think they have power to give me real tickets or revoke my license.

Just get the pass. Unless you some kind of a locksmith your not picking the lock of a traffic boot and if you tamper with it you'll be committing a crime and thats just dumb.

the parking boot has a master lock on it, easy to pick. the security who puts the boot on does not work for the town or state or ppa. still illegal?

They work for the owner of the property. So leave it alone and get the darn pass
