Cool Good Carbon Fiber Hood Companies?

Please post your opinions on good carbon fiber hood companies. I've heard good things about vis. Does anyone know how that compares to carbon creations? Post only wet cf reviews, unless you know of a good and inexpensive dry cf company.

There's no such thing as a good inexpensive carbon fiber company.

VIS is the worst.

Same here. I've heard slightly better reviews for seibon though... I'm picking one up soon and don't wanna get something poorly made

Love my VIS hood, loved the previous Seibon hood before the wreck and love my Seibon hatch lol.

To me it's all about getting the proper finish on it. Like I cleared/painted my hood as soon as I got it back after buying my shell.

Same with the hatch. Both look and are holding up amazing. If you ask me you should never trust a cf parts finish from the factory. Always have it cleared before install.

^^^ this.

The original gel coat they put on from the factory is horrible and needs to be removed completely before a couple layers of clear get put on. You won't have to worry about fading or discoloration for awhile afterwards.

Seibon and VIS are one of the same company now from what i've heard.... never looked into it to see if that's true or not. But of the two - Seibon produces the better fitment most of the time.

I have a VIS trunk - and over a year later it still looks like new, its always outside in the sun. Only gripe i have is ive got a keyhole "optional cutout" that i didn't want... VIS doesn't specify all the time if there is one or if it's smooth apparently and I wasn't thinking to ask. Took a little bit of time to fit it properly but it works better than the leaky holy trunk i had before

Had nothing but good luck with Seibon. They're VERY easy to deal with and the quality of the stuff is outstanding.

And can be purchased locally through JSC Speed.

I bought Seibon for both CF hood and rear hatch on my 350Z Wide Body project.
The hatch was distorted and had terrible fittment issues with no weight savings
so I returned it and then used the OEM instead.
The Hood on the other hand was FLAWLESS!

Could not even tell where any seams were and had a high quality finish. NICE!

I got some cheap no name hood a couple years ago from a local shop. It was crazy cheap so I decided to give it a shot. I guess I got lucky because the weave is perfect and the fitment was spot on. I've never had any problems with it at all. Everyone always thinks its siebon or VIS haha.
