New here - need some info. on Subaru Legacys

Hello!

I was told to register here by my brother, Driven. He said you all should be able to help me with some information on a Subaru Legacy GT.

It's a 98 GT - 2.5L, 5 speed with 147,000 miles. The guy is saying it needs a water pump in his ad and when I spoke to him he said he "pours water in and it pours right back out."

Is this a common problem in these? If so, is it a water pump or something more serious????

He's asking $1,500 and seems to be flexible...

Thoughts?

Thanks!

;)
