Who cares what others think, get what you want :D
Nice car though, I tried to talk my cousin into a speed3 but he didn't want a hatch. He just got the 3s m/t. He is missing out on the fun.

^ yea he is lol...

this thing sounds absolutley vicious now... and the best part is the muffler was recycled, and being put to use on my friends solara...

it sounds like an srt4 down low in the rpms, then the 2.3L DISI sound really comes through on the top end which i really love !

i thought the Borla muffler it had was nice, but to quiet for my liking...

i dont have a clip of it yet. but i think it sounds very similar to the video. in person it sounds alot deeper, and pissed off lol.

the down shifts in this thing are insane lol, it seems like forever for the rpms to drop lol - it sounds so bad ass though...

Suspension, Suspension, Suspension

The MS3 come standward with " Lowering Springs " compared to OEM spec Mazda 3. That being said the OEM Dampers are a bit stiffer for a sportier feel. Mazda owners will tell you the OEM suspension isnt that great on these cars, and wear out pretty fast. I have 44K on my car, and I can feel it on the road. The Dampers are the biggest short fall of the suspension, and just do not hold up well over time. So with that all being said, its time for me to start building the suspension back up to OEM par or better...

Im looking into going with KONI FSD Struts to help restore ride quality, and get some better damping for the corners...

Koni FSD's + Ground Control Front Bump Stops + OEM Strut Mounts / Bushings + Hotchkis F/R Sway Bars should feel pretty good I think for a DD...

stock struts are still kinda rough... thinking about RACELAND Coilovers - they cost the same about to replace my struts, and i will atleast be about to lower the car a little bit...

thoughts ? - yes i know they are a cheap option....

You'll at least be able to lower the car but I don't think they have any damper adjustment so they may ride rough.

from what i have read, and from what local guys that i know who have run them... most people dont have to many complaints about them, and are a good buy for the money...

i personally dont mind a firm ride, its just the OEM struts are really worn after 44K... sadly i think these would be an upgrade in comfort, as the ride cant get anyworse then what it is now...

the struts have zero to minimal damping left in them... time to do something about lol

**** Side note, whos got the hook up on tires ? need 225/40/18's ****

I read a whole thread on them on NASIOC and people either loved them or hated them. BUT, all of the haters never rode in a car with them--they were just bashing them based on price. People that had them or had ridden in cars with them seemed to like them.

I'm sure the ride is going to be a little stiffer at least, but if you don't mind that then worth a try. I don't think they'd pass the "wife and kid test" so not an option for me, but I'd be real curious to see how someone likes them.

I think they are junk. Personally, if you want something decent as a reasonable price look into some Koni STR.T and a set of decent springs. It will run you a little more, but its more then worth it.

Koni's + Springs = Same $$$ as Coils ( 1K+ )

these have gotten good reviews from people in the speed3 community that have them. I have also talked with people local to me who have run them and have had good experience with them...

i think ill take a dive on these soon, but i believe tires are a more crucial purchase right now...

If you can take a ride in a car with them, you definitely should. I think that will help you decide.

After futher pondering the subject, I think im just gonna stick w/ OEM Struts. This way there's no warranty issues with this out come...

Now with that being said, and still looking for some performance gains. Im looking into MAZDASPEED (Lowering Springs + Rear Camber Arms ) Kit resulting in a ( .6'' ) drop F/R = 440$

Going this route will allow me to lower the car a little bit, and be fully covered with the dealer...

Also still looking into tire options, looking into a semi decent all season...

Conti DWS. I'm going to be running them on the Z06 once it gets cold again.

Havent updated this in awhile...

finally getting some money together ( about 1300$ ) so far, and still will be putting some more aside. I plan on getting some things addressed within the next month...

OEM Radio - AUX Jack doesnt work ( Stupid Sirius Radio )

Brakes - Rear Pads/Rotors replaced last month, and are making a loud noise during slow braking ??? - annoying

Tires - looking for 225/40/18's - unsure what tires yet...

After those are completed, im torn on what direction to go - SUSPENSION or POWER...
