balance shaft removal QR25DE

was reading up about a balance shaft removal kit or just cutting the chain and leaving the assembly still in the engine?

anyone have any good or bad input about this or ppl that have done this before? Thanks

Cutting the chain works just fine, but its ghetto and is pretty much a half ass way to get the job done. The benefit of actually buying the JWT BSR removal kit, and actually taking out the balance shaft is that your car will now take about an extra quart and a half of oil. Which is good thing for QRs in general as they have oil consumption issues, and it's really good if you ever decide to go turbo.

Just a FYI, get the balance shaft actually out is not fun. Don't attempt unless your car is on a lift. Trying to do it on the ground is just impossible.
