Says mine is 790 bhp, probably pretty close. The only way to know is put an engine on an engine dyno, then a chassis dyno and see the loss. but either way, dynos are not an absolute value.

Power is largely superficial anyway. Power/weight is what makes a car accelerate well, and the driver determines wether the car is fast or not.

BHP= WHP/percentage of power that makes it to the wheels, when factoring in drivetrain loss.

For example I dynoed at 403hp/437 tq.

403/.85=474 crank hp
437/.85=514 tq.

I've sadly never met anyone who didn't simply take 400 and ad 60ish or so to get 460. Its simple math.

The first time I ever dyno'd the Baja it's baseline was 177 AWHP and the factory rating from the brochure at the dealer was 210 at the crank.

This is roughly 19 percent loss if my math is right.

The pull was on a Dynapak. No wheels seemed like cheating at the time, but the power LOSS was most likely a more accurate percentage without them.

The Baja did 340 the last time it was on the rollers. (Dynojet) If I multiply that by 1.19 it comes out to 404.6 round up to 405.

The calculator guesstimated 417.

12 AWHP difference.

Pretty damn close in my book.

You're forgetting gearing. And you need traction to use accelerate anywhere. And the fact that a little thing known as aerodynamics is eventually going to not give a **** what your power/weight ratio is.
