Almost a required tool to have when you start modding a VAG car is the Vag-Com. Vag-com is Diagnostic Software for all VW/Audis. They are out of Lansdale. The verison you need is HEX-USB+CANruns around ~$349 IIRC. Their site is www.ross-tech.com

It's much more than a scanner tool, basically what they did is take the dealership service Diagnostic computer and made it availible for PCs.

Next would be a bentley service/repair maunal. from www.bentleypublishers.com. I would reccomed getting the CD verison. You can get online updates plus it has more to offer than the paper version.

also you could try to find someone in the Area with a Vag-com. there's an email list out on vortex who has which version Vag-com.

I got Vag-com. I can't use it on the newer can-bus cars, but if you need a scan or want to log some info on your passat let me know.

I will probably be at the TST meet tomorrow.

I came from Chevy too. My two preivous ones were a 1996 Red Chevy 2dr Z71 tahoe sport.

my truck tha tI got rid of when I went to VW. 1997 White Chevy of the same model above.

I do miss my trucks, though not the mileage. I going to look for one in a 6.5 Turbo Diesel. I love the big blazer/2dr tahoes.
