pulled over = modified muffler ticket

first off I wouldn't have posted this thread but I couldn't respond to anyone elses thread in this section.

so, on my way home for lunch today I got pulled over in my EVO by the police for having a modified exhaust. The officer was really rude to me even though i was polite and I could tell he was looking for more stuff to get me on. anyway thats not the reason for this thread.

the reason I posted this is because I wanted to see if there is anything I can to about this ticket to prove my exhaust is legal. the ticket references sec 4523 seb sec D, and according to the reserach I did and the posts on here I've seen from other people who have been pulled over for the same the exhaust needs to be 84db or louder from 50' away @ 35mph. I'm sure me exhaust is lower then this by a good bit. does anyone know where to get your car certified or get the db level tested? any other information on the subject would be helpful. thanks.

The only this you can do is go to court and pled not guity and prove your case.

bringing this back from the dead...

My case got dismissed today in court.
For anyone using this thread for reference, according to chapter 157 of PA Law, unless the officer measured the sound of your exhaust using proper equipment and is trained to do so there is no case.
The police can not ticket you, or even pull you over for that matter, based on their 'impression' that your exhaust sounds loud. If they do you can beat it in court - this pressident was set by "the people vs. Joel Baily" on 4.28.08.

Thanks to VEZ on this forum for the help and documentation.
