Is this a point violation?? I received this ticket for an accident on I-95 about a month back. Just curious on either or not it was a point ticket. Thanks.

I was on 95 and the person slammed on the brakes in front of me. Needless to say I rear-ended the guy. the state trooper gave me the ticket and stated that I was following too close. I had enough room between my car and the person in front of me but the reaction time and the weight of the car caused me to skid. This was on a 4-lane intersection of 95.
