WTF!? I wonder if they wanted to try something during the air show? Makes me want to carry my gun during my rounds at night checking the wells.

there were only five of them and they were traveling back and forth from the poconos getting shooting lessons like training to kill and they were caught when they tried to purchase the ak's my first thought was ummm
5 little dudes with semi automatic weapons that are semi accurate are gonna try and tkae down an entire base? i think not

This sucks, but imagine 5 guys trying to get through the gate at Ft. Dix without an ID.

MP's with M16s over terrorists with AK's everyday of the week.

OT: Jersey T/A, do you work out at the McGuire gym?

Nope, but there is another tinted black WS6 that's on base. He doesn't have the front license plate cover on his car though. He's my impersonator lol.

yea this is a little scary and all, but honestly how much would 5 guys with ak's b e able to do against a whole military base? sure theyd be able to maybe pick off a few mp's at the gate then theyll get annihilated

depends on what tactics were used, it would be fairly easy to gain access although im certainly not going to go into specifics on here. however assuming these guys are as good/imaginative as 90% of islamic extremeists are they'd likely go right for the front gate and no get much farther.

one of the news clips i read mentioned that they had a relative that owned a pizza parlor offpost. andthat this relative was their #1 information source as to the layout of the base. also, the arms dealer was an FBI plant. he was put in place when the geniuses decided to get a VHS of their terror training converted to DVD at a local retailer

Lol, they would have went right for the main gate. It would be easy to get on there in other ways, but as dumb as these guys were, I'm sure they would have done an awful job from start to finish.

There are 2 of those right outside the gate here.

I'm not going into details, like Dave said, but it's not the fortress you guys think it is. The good thing is all one guy at the main gate has to do is push a button and the spikes/barriers come up. Almost all the MPs and SPs carry M-16s too

In the lunch time news they said one of the guys was working out of Super Mario's Pizza and he would get info from delivering pizza's on base.

Of course these guys where probably not to bright and would go for a main gate. Once the base got warning it would be over in no time.

They made all current delivery drivers get new passes with pictures taken and social sec numbers. Sounds like they are doing background checks on them also, but I can see the bases getting rid of deliveries all together because of this.

regardless of how fast it would take to take them out, a lot of soldiers could have been killed... if they got on base and planted bombs or suicide bombed a building, im glad they are caught and going to pmita prison - this is why i dont mind paying taxes =P

Kinda Bothered

Now please forgive me, for I may be just a stubborn Air Force guy, but...Did ANYONE catch on the news about the terrorists that tried to attack Fort Dix in NJ?? I mean, they captured 6 out of 10 of the guys that had planned to kill ANY and ALL military members that they had come across. They did research on quite a few other local bases also to include but not limited to; Dover Delaware, Fort Monmouth, McGuire AFB is right inside of Fort Dix which was their primary goal..

I ate at the restaraunt where one of them worked as a pizza delivery boy, delivering pizzas to the base and doing recconasaince work by taking pictures. I live RIGHT around the corner from where this was about to take place, hell I work there.

I am just very surprised that NO one had posted up about this. I mean, this is an attempt on the lives of our country, countrymen and women. Maybe there was a post and I just missed it. Sorry for the rant, just pisses me off that people would plan an attack on us because that's what their religions supports. I'm just a bit surprised that there were no comments posted about this.

I don't believe that the six that they caught should be allowed to live. You come in our country, threaten our people, you should die.

I second that LS...Put em in front of a firing squad, and start with rubber bullets and move up from there

It was already posted.
I live right there.
I go on base everyday.
I'm not really nervous.
I'm down for a firing squad tho, which pizza shop did they deliver for?

I must have missed the post, my mistake. Yeah, I live there also. I work and travel on and off base too, hell one of my younger sisters works on base also. It's more upsetting then me being nervous about anything. The guy delivered pizzas at Super Marios in Cookstown. He used that as a way to take pictures with his phone..
