STi/WRX interior swap/trunk swap?

So i have an offer on the table to swap my STi interior(including carpet)/STi trunklid for somebodys (you know who you are, keep hushed! haha) 04 WRX interior and carpet/WINGLESS trunklid. Now i absolutely dig the wingless trunklid and subie owners know how hard they have become to get. I kinda dig the black interior as well, not as flashy....more of a sleeper look. I am really leaning towards doing this. Please vote and comment on what you think about this deal.

To me, your giving money away since it will hurt the resale of your car. I don't own an sti but I do see many kids doing this for no charge, straight up trade which mean many kids have the same opinion as you. What I would do if I had an sti would be to keep the interior and go wingless, it doesn't cost but $300 to shave and paint a trunk. I know for sure that you could sell the sti wing for close to that so you would still make out in the long run.

Thanks for the input. I dont really care about resale value, as i dont plan on ever getting rid of the car. Sure i will move on to something different some year, but i wont be sacrificing the STi for a new car. Worst case, if i ever DO have to part with the car years down the road, i will just get another STi interior off of nasioc or clubwrx, etc. No biggie. Still dont know what i want to do yet.

I dont really think it will hurt the resale...its still an STi-- and Joe Shmo most likely wont know what kind of seats came on what years etc.

However...I definitley dont think you should trade straight up.. Most people get like...trade plus $500 for the whole package...seats, carpet, wing..door cards.

I wouldn't even consider getting rid of that interior. Go wingless and keep the interior the way it is. For one even though it's flashier, the seats are more supportive and comfortable. Also wrx interiors are a dime a dozen, doing a straight up trade goes beyond generous.

Actually, you would be suprised. I have owned both a wrx and the current STi, and the STi seats arent that much more supportive than the wrx seats at all. I really dont care how "rare" the interior is. I actually like the all black interior much better. Im making the swap with a friend and its okay to be generous with friends.......im sure he'll return the generosity somewhere down the road. And yes, its final.......we are swapping tomorrow afternoon.

How do you like it? Better or something you need to get used to?
