UPDATE:
tomorrow i am going to pick up a bluetop h23 vtec with vtec trans and the rest of the odds and ends i will need to swap it off a friend who ditched his project.. his loss my gain ill post more about it after i pick it up..

on another note i did a little bay degreasing today... got a big spray bottle and filled it up with 3/4 water and a 1/4 of dawn dish soap.. and got my self a good scrub brush and went to town on the bay.. it cleaned up pretty good !
first i let it sit for 15 mins i sprayed it down then i sprayed it down again and scrubbed all the caked on mess off for the tiny spots i missed i then sprayed it again and im letting it sit overnight to soak in.. pretty surprized on how well it worked for being free and doing this at 8PM lol

14's... Nice "torquey" motor but that shell is heavy as hell and the h series trans isnt gonna help. It should be fun and keep you happy though.

decent enough for me lol i dont really like to race just because the people involved with it are idiots mostly and dont know how to have fun and not get butthurt.. but i do like to have a decently fast car to play with occasionally

i got into it a bit more today.. started stripping the block down so i can shoot it with some paint and check out the timing belt..

the timin belt looked good.. the teeth are perfect and you can still see the texture on the teeth.. this motor cant have more then 20k on it.. under the valve cover was perfect honey colored internals all the ports are clean ! this is just looking better and better

i took the ac compressor off and the alternator.. goign to test the alt and see if i will be using it or buying a new one.. ac compressor ill just buy another used one as a spare and assume it works.. this wont be my daily...

the motor in its undies looks clean

here is the ac and alt brackets i cleaned up with a wire wheel and sprayed a little paint on...

did a little more painting.. painted the block satin black along with the fuel rail and spark plug cover, and also painted the intake manifold with a fresh coat of silver

that paint is never gonna stick lol the block would need to be hot tanked, scotch padded, and then primered before you could ever get a basecoat to stick with any sort of longevity, id repaint that valve cover the dark wrinkle blue it was originally though, always liked that look.

hid the engine bay fuse box behind the dash today... it was actually pretty simple.. got a razorblade and cut away some of the loom fished the 4 plugs for the fuse box to behind the grommet and down the dash right to where the ecu sits under the floor board.. then you just plug the grommet back in and it looks like oem.. no cutting wires, took about 30 mins..

im off on thursday and i will be hiding the power steering res under the fender.. how will i fill it up ? easy i removed the washer bottle and im going to have the cap sticking thru that hole so it can still function as normal.. of course the hoses will need to be extended but not a big deal.. its just rubber hose
