Nice. I love seeing Volkswagen builds that don't focus on being dumped with wheels.

H&R Springs with the Koni Yellows? Sport or Super Sport?

super sport, just enough to get rid of the gap

Doing some sunday morning work on the gti little things only. Next weekend I'm going to try to get the brakes on & the R tails. I also will get it on the lift for the first round of suspension mods.

Big props to john@FTC5 for the sidemarkers. I also have him working on a new project for me, since these turned out so well. If the color looks a tiny bit off it's because I have a expel clear bra on the the car & the sidemarkers don't yet so it reflects the light a bit differently, but they are a dead on factory match:

Now, I'm a self admitted carbon fiber junkie & had a few real cf overlay parts made up to compliment the tid paddle extensions. It may not be to everyone's taste, but I like it. I had a ton of cf in my mkv so I'm just continuing the trend. You'll understand when you see the bay when it's done.

Now if your wondering why I didn't do my headunit it's because I'm retro fitting in a 510 so I can run the CC back up camera & that's been done too:

IMO I like the center dash overlayed in cf, but I don't think I'll do any more as I feel more would become gaudy. Especially as I do a new interior etc... Can't wait for next weekend to start knocking out some bigger mods.

Making some slow, but steady progress, gotta thank Adam strunk for the good work. Front brembo's are on. They are 355mm & needed a 12.5mm spacer to fit. There is a little rubbage, but we did the screw mod & will roll the fender this week.

Car is lowered on H&R ss springs with koni yellows. It should settle and get a little lower, but I'm happy with how she sits. Gonna do the pendulum/torque mount tomorrow along with a alignment. We also threw on the H&R rsb w/ bsh end links today. Suspension wise we still need to do the front sway bar/end links, whiteline walk/full bushing kit, space out the rears etc.... Still waiting for the rear brakes to come in as well. Once, we get the above done we'll move on to performance mods & putting my R bits & exterior stuff on etc...

Thanks, I'm happy with the direction this is moving. It's been a pretty easy build so far.

Looks good so far. One question, what made you get an auto trans instead of a manual trans?

Well, my wife's last gti had the dsg system & I learned to realy like it. I can run it in "D" mode for normal driving or "S" mode for a bit more spirited driving, it also gives me the option of going full tiptronic with the paddle shifters. I figure I do alot of city driving & it meets my needs, or I could just be getting old

Good luck with the build. I have been heavily considering one of these lately.

Don't mind my dirty car, I actually washed it yesterday, but the bugs here in pa are unrelenting. I was able to put the osir cf lip on last nite. I have to say fitment was spot on & it only took 5 speed clips & 9 screws to attach. One of the easiest mods I've done so far:

^^^Thank-you

I was able to give my car a decent washing last nite along with my wife's CC and figured I'd snap snap pics.

I should be dropping my car off at AWE sometime in the next two weeks for a intake, dv, tbe, S3 ic, S3 top, ecu tune. They call it the tsi stage 2, I'm also purchasing a K04, but don't know when I'll put it in. I only have 2,400 on my car now so I may give it awhile, but it will be hard not to put it on knowing it's sitting in my basement.

I also plan to have round 2 of suspension mods done by wf. My big dilemma is what big project to tackle before wf/h20. I think I'm going to go with a new notchless hood & badgeless gti grille, and get my R headlights on. At some time I plan to tackle a new interior, but I know I won't get it done before those shows.

I've been doing some work to the bay as well, but as I'm still waiting on parts I won't show it until it's more complete. I have some decent parts going on, and I do plan to make up a new intake manifold similar to my mkv. I also plan to have alot of parts pc'd instead of polished in the bay, but it should look 1/2 way legit by mid-summer.

I also have a few parts that I'm not showing in the pics to keep it fresh for all the upcoming shows. Can't put all my cards on the table.

I was also able to order up some red bbs caps last nite pretty sure they're 70mm/64mm if not I'm screwed

I'm thinking about nixing the cf hood. After my mkv build, I'm burnt out on bodywork & swapping hoods etc... Think I'll just do the R headlights before the summer, and save my $ towards a katzkin kit. I think a cf hood may just look a little rice, even if it's painted. The weight savings is small. If I do any body work it will just be to have the notch filled & get a badgeless gti grille. I want to stay as close as I can to the oem+ look. I'd like to keep my build as clean & as simple as possible. I did order up a bonnet bra from england so that'll be something different on my hood & I won't have to worry about scratching since the clear bra is underneath, I just always loved that look.

With a K04 sitting in my basement, I want to get my gti's suspension as dailed in as possible. Gonna get ready to install all the whiteline stuff & H&R fsb to firm up the front. The rear is running pretty good with the rsb/end links. I feel I always have the option to add a unibrace & z bar? I did add a pendulum/torque mount which firmed up the shifts a bit, still contemplating motor mounts again? I go back & forth, but I'm gonna try to get away without them since my car is still a dd.

Thanks for checking out this thread & your advice/C & C is always welcome
