I've somehow overlooked this thread. Absolutely love the Datsun. Will be coming back for more.

I have been looking for a 323 GT (The FWD turbo sedan version of the GTX with slightly less power.) I have searched two years and still have not found one for sale.

Empera,

Besides just fixing it up, any other plans on the Shiro? Paint?

Goals for the shiro is to restore it to its beautiful glory, which includes paint. However it is pretty much the girls even though we say its our project so we'll see in which direction we want to go with it.

You realize every time I come to this thread, I immediately hit CL and look for a Z31... You know this right?

What happened to the front of the car? Looks a little mangled up.

True. Going with white again to keep it true to being a Shiro?

While no one can argue the capabilities of a 2J, the W series VG30ET is an extremely capable engine as well. Glad you are going to stick with it.

Yes i know. It doesnt need to be fast as it will a weekend cruiser.

Couple of updates.

I installed the windshiled, might be permanent since the dash cover has to go on. Loving the car more and more as it resembers a car more and more...

Also i installed the driver's side bucket seat. Welded a bracket onto the stock rails so it could be adjusted and use the stock bolt holes on the bottom. The other seat is bad so i need to order another. However not bad for the seats being free!

Chugging along!

installed all the glass and a new autometer water temp gauge which did not pass 110 F* even with the fan off and with this weather. Accord to my infrared thermometer one or the other is off by 5-8 degrees.

I now need to figure out what i'm going to about the fuel level gauge.

very nice. never even thought about verifying gauge accuracy with a infrared temp gun. could you retro fit a sending unit from another car somehow?

I could...but **** that...i found an autometer fuel level gauge thats close enough but it'll be off about 1/4 tank or so....it'll work for now. They make programmable gauges as well but it was a little over twice the price so im going to hold off on that.

Installed a 3 gauge holder , looks about right. I wired a temp gauge, fuel level gauge and havent decided on what the third should be. I also wired up the Innovate wideband...perhaps i can find a black face for it.

ohhhhh fancy, clearly you are winning the swap car interior award at the moment. Looks good. Whats left of TST needs to have a meet, or a cruise to Bethlehem C&C when all of our junk is streetable

Yea agreed on the meet. I dont think i had a choice on the gauge swap since the stockers wouldnt work with most of the car. Lots more wiring to do....im thinking its the most time consuming part of the build.

agreed, i have lots to do, i have 2 large holes in the floor that need to be sealed up from when i cut the tunnel, and then i need to figure out how to get all the lights/windows and such working, id also eventually like to have the Ignition work for more than just unlocking the steering wheel haha
