thanks!, im hoping it will be a blast, ive only driven about 3 miles maybe? In that time ive only jumped on the gas hard once. it seems like it will definitely boogy pretty good. im excited to see how it feels once i have it dyno tuned and can do a nice long highway pull. Also plan on taking it to the track just to see how it does. Mid to High 12's would be cool. Any guesses? should weigh around 3000 pounds and we're hoping for maybe 280 wheel hp.

def will be looking for a limited slip at minimum over the summer (unless there are other remotely cheap options) and im guessing there are welded braces for the rear control arms?

Yup, just some trailing arm bracing. With a turbo you're going to blow 'em apart. And the LSDs are super cheap (IMO). Like $250 will net you a nice used unit, not sure what kind of gearing you're wanting.

And yeah man, just snag a diff out of an E28 'sports' model. An LSD will say "S" on the diff tag, as in "S3.25". You can also buy an E30 diff and swap the flanges and cover of your E28 diff onto it. |

This dude has an e30 case S2.93, S3.73, and S4.10. Give em a ring and hit him with a lowball or six

i was also a little surprised at $500 as well, especially since i would still have to swap the housings or whatever. ill be on the look out for a 3.25s from a five series this summer so i can just bolt it right in. my ecu is already tuned for my current tire size and gear ratio so theres also that. who knows, i just wanna get it roadworthy for the time being

Guy is smoking something.
4.10 is like $200-$250, 3.73 $250-$300 and 2.93 is usually $250-$300 (more if low mileage). |

Jack it up and spin a tire, if the other one spins the same way its an LSD, if it spins the opposite way its open.

wow, school has been crazy. A few minutes ago i ordered some sheet metal to patched up the trans tunnel and some new fittings for the trans cooler lines. I also have the seals i need to fix my brake fluid reservoir issue. This weekend I am hoping to get the floors patched up, brakes repaired, coolant leak fixed and possibly install the some of the gauges. Wishful thinking anyways!

got some work in today, snow kind of killed my plans though. I made my own npt fitting out of a random aluminum piece i found at the hardware store for a dollar, and then i welded it to my thermostat housing. Then I dropped by denmah's to trade him some 4inch exhaust tubing for his down pipe in exchange for some plasma cutter time to make a "dash" its not perfect, but itll do for now. I also replaced the grommets for my brake reservoir. Not confident that that was the entire issue, it could have something to do with the heat from the exhaust? ill have to let the car warm up and take it for a drive when the weather clears up and see. Thats probably it for the weekend though, slowly but surely.

todays update; not much, had to move the car for shoveling the driveway. let it idle up to temperature. no more leaks, i did notice the car has a slight miss fire though, probably something simple like a plug wire or electrical connector. Excited for spring break to arrive!
