99 firebird formula
bought last spring, with 55k on it from a friend's girlfriend. it was stock with flowdumpster catback which is still on it. she owned it for a while, and always ran 87 octane in it and never went past like 1/3 throttle because she was scared of it.
i bought it, swapped in the torque converter and transmission from my old one (98 formula) that got totalled and i bought it back- so i got my parts back for free. tuned it, bolted some parts on it, tuned it some more, raced it alot, broke it alot.
fun car. i've had much enjoyment out of it.
mods-
all boltons (besides water pump basically) so intake/exhaust/headers/etc...
built transmission/ torque converter
nitrous
drag radials
tuning
other stuff
(if i really wanted to tell the whole story i'd need about 30 minutes to type- so you guys got the short version)
it needs a rear badly since the gears are waaaaaaay toooo long now with the new trans, so over the winter i'm going to try and save to get a rear/driveshaft/tq arm/suspension. hopefully it'll be a KILLER with the drivetrain setup. spraying off the trans-brake should be fun
.
and YES, it is THAT easy to build a ls1. not as expensive as one might think either.
