You've never tried decent ammo? The lacquer can make the rounds more inconsistent in size, coupled with the ****ty machining on those guns back then can make for some pretty whacky tolerances. I've owned guns that were really picky about ammo, that could be the issue.
Why not take it to a gunsmith? John Robinson is at Clayton's now, I can't imagine they'd charge you more than 30-40 bucks to do a thorough polish on it
