off-topic/other is kind of the same thing. I think you worrying about people going off on a tangent and a couple people who "know" each other ****ing around is a waste of your, and our, time.
It shouldn't be policed and shut down unless it has degraded into personal attacks, flame-fests, or whatever else that is deemed to be able to cause problems off the forum. Since we all live relatively close the peace should be kept. But I think shutting down off-topic threads for going off-topic is
have a moderator keep track of current threads, someone to deal with any of the above mentioned problems and delete or fix the problem. But leave the harmless tangent threads alone
