Are you aware we have a budget of allocated expenses each year? Did you think that you pay taxes and then they just burn your money?
And when they say donate money, they don't just hand out money to individual people. Seriously, where do all these dumba** people come from. The money goes to different organizations who in turn buy the products, supplies, and services they need.
