Forza Horizon

So this is hitting shelves on Oct 23rd and looks to be really sweet. Tons of cars, better graphics, and most importantly, miles upon miles of open road, gravel, etc.. Said to have the same Forza 4 physics engine we know and love. Based in the Colorado area. Also set to include night racing and real traffic.

rocknrace03 09-30-2012 02:04 PM

so its kind of like need for speed underground 2/ most wanted but not based off street racing? but i can fly around mountain/dirt roads at my own pace?

CleanNeon98 09-30-2012 02:15 PM

Yes. You have races you can attend, or just go ham around town. Here's a developer vid discussing more about the world of Forza Horizon. From what I've read and heard so far, they're saying it's the game that Need for Speed Hot Pursuit, and Test Drive Unlimited never grew to.

Damn. I just dropped money in a camera instead of getting an Xbox lol.

Foolinaround 09-30-2012 05:57 PM

No mr2? for shame.

rocknrace03 09-30-2012 06:25 PM

video is cool. makes me happy that i can finally drive the trucks/awd cars, or any car really off road. should be fun weaving in and out of traffic where consequences are minor. now i can live out all my fantasies i have while sitting in rush hour traffic

mcperson2k 09-30-2012 09:27 PM

So did they completely do away with real race tracks?

CleanNeon98 09-30-2012 10:25 PM

For Horizon yes. There's still going to be Forza 5

CleanNeon98 09-30-2012 11:14 PM

Also you guys know they'll have car packs just like for the motorsport series. I'm so stoked for.this game

dudewheresmycar 10-02-2012 03:01 PM

no tuning in this game. bummer :(

jpalamar 10-02-2012 03:06 PM

Forza was fun but it gets so boring so fast.

mcperson2k 10-02-2012 08:42 PM

I loved Forza... I only raced online, but the 1st turn on every track made my night... Had 90% of the people on XBL not had mics, it probably wouldn't have been so entertaining.

I really loved TDU2 though.. i think if they used that type of free-world roaming with forza's car mechanics and extensive features, this game SHOULD be a killer.

CleanNeon98 10-02-2012 10:06 PM

Demo set to hit XBL Oct 9th!

Not sure if I want to pony up 80 bucks for the Limited Edition. Might just wait till the game GTA reviews anyway, not like its gonna be sold out everywhere anyhow.

CleanNeon98 10-09-2012 10:33 AM

Well, the crash physics are definitely more arcade, and there doesnt look to be any mechanical damage. I know its not the full game but its less than I was expecting. Cars also handle in more of an arcade manner but there's only 3 you can drive so who knows

mcperson2k 10-09-2012 10:42 AM

You know, when I heard about this, I couldn't picture them putting the theme of Horizon with the physics of the other Forza games... It's hard enough getting around a track quickly and accurately in Forza, let alone avoiding traffic and driving through all the different surfaces they were talking about. I wouldn't be surprised at all if they dulled down the realism.

About the damage: If I recall, in the last Forza demos, their was no damage at all, not even cosmetic?

CleanNeon98 10-09-2012 12:22 PM

Then again after playing the demo once again I got the hang of it. Best I can say is forza, grid, NFS, and test drive in one.

mcperson2k 10-09-2012 01:16 PM

Grid is one of my favorite racing games. They really nailed the realism mixed with the arcade style driving. I love that game!
