Lots of cars will drag those temporary speed bumps too.

In order to do an event that size for that length is definitely going to create an overtime issue, are they willing to do that just for a meet? Or will they just say that the crowd cant control themselves and shut the event down for good? Its mainly an issue with people learning how to act like adults.

An overtime detail would be requested and then they would most likely ask or say how many officers are available and a price would be calculated.

I would think up to 5 officers would make a huge difference. Heck just parking a cop car somewhere in the middle of things makes things happen less from what I've seen.

If you put an officer(s) at the entrance and a couple along the entrance stretch before the parking and they don't let people heckle, it should go a lot better.

A disorderly conduct ticket is not worth a burnout or being immature lol

But seriously, Dan is right. Police presence is a must with the way people act these days. It'll suck to hurt the final donation but at this point it's a necessary evil.

Bump the entrance fee to $10/car. There didn't seem to be a lack of people willing to fork over $5.

Fresh meet was 10 and the ammount of utter garbage that showed for that meet was unparalleled. Might as well do it to cover police presence though.

Awesome donation news! Our incredible car community was able to raise $17,133.58 at The 7th Annual TriStateTuners Spring Meet last weekend which will be donated to The Make-A-Wish Foundation of Greater PA and Southern WV. This is by far the largest donation we have ever been able to make and will be used to directly benefit children right in our local area.
Huge thanks to all of those who contributed to this event including our generous sponsors, dedicated volunteers, and to all those who attended and supported the meet this year.

How much total was raised? n understand there was expenses but I'm curious how much an event like this costs.

DPancoast 04-28-2013 06:52 PM

Good to hear there was such great success.

TROLL 04-28-2013 07:19 PM

We had about $2,500 in expenses this year which is more than in the past, but last year we had the park fee waived as a one time donation from Warminster Township which helped a lot. We have seen expenses rise each year as the size of the event grows, but have managed to grow the amount we have been able to donate each year as well.

Donated amounts over the years:
2010: $5,000+
2011: $10,000+
2012: $12,000+
2013: $17,000+

Hoping next year we will be able to improve things all around and continue to grow our donation amount!

It is great to see that even with expenses the event still crushes the previous year donation.

Can only get bigger.

Wow that's awesome let's all raise 20,000 next yr!!

saxon 04-29-2013 08:38 PM

to do 20,000 it will need a larger venue for sure

proud to participate as my best friends nephew is part of the make a wish

hopefully some of these recommendations aren't seen as "bitching" but more as people wanting to make the meet "better"

Yes IMO to do 20k TsT will need a bigger venue by far along with bringing in like 27k just to donate 20k after all expenses are covered.......paying for stuff sucks and sucks up the money that all should be a donation but that's the world we live in I guess:cry:

Charge $10 per car at door and you will raise a crapload more money. Might also help with the class of car a tad.

thepete 05-01-2013 03:13 PM

^^^^ This.

2 benefits out of 1 simple and minor change. I'm all for it.

boostedfury 05-01-2013 03:28 PM
