Hey all,

Some base shots of the ST that I picked up recently. I've already done a Cobb Intake, and a BOV, waiting for another few weeks to do cat back, down-pipe and Cobb Accessport.

Very nice, I really like these. There is one by my house that is that electric blue, small lip on it, and lowered a little on those oem wheels. Looks perfect, I would honestly love one.

2g Talon 01-25-2015 11:43 PM

Thanks man! I am loving this car so far, Its a torquey little **** lol. Hoping to do a turbo swap on it in the future (like a year or two) and just keeping it drive able. Whats new with you man, its been a while?

Shipman 01-25-2015 11:55 PM

All is well, Im shocked you actually posted in this forum, no one seems to come on here anymore, like 6 of us bouncing between really only 3 legit build threads.

As far as this car I think its a great pick up, I have a buddy whos been following ford and keeps telling me that theyre bringing the RS over here sometime soon, so if its all true then there will pretty much be your car with boost and awd which should be awesome. Im not sure if thats all true though.

You dont have the talon anymore I assume?

2g Talon 01-26-2015 12:06 AM

Nah, that thing was a money pit and half. As for the Ford RS, I heard a rumor for 2016 for that. I like the turbo in the ST, its just really small. Great for quick acceleration and the response is insane, but the high end power kinda dies off too quickly. I've been spending alot of time on FocusST.org to be honest, this place does seem rather dead lol

Shipman 01-26-2015 12:10 AM

This place is wack lol. I only come on here because my work computer blocks social networking sites but not forums. Otherwise you wouldnt see me on here either. I pretty much just use nasioc for real information and this as a time killer.

Arent all DSM's a money pit? I had friends with a 2G eclipse and a 1G talon, both never left the driveways lol.

I've heard a lot of good about the Focus ST... seems like it'd be a fun car to own. How much of a boost in power do you get with the AP, downpipe, etc?

2g Talon 01-26-2015 09:48 PM

With the mods I have now its not a ton of power increase. I'm still noticing that its only pushing about 8-10 lbs of boost at WOT. Which isn't bad, the turbo spools with nearly no effort which is nice. With what I've done I've felt (haven't dyno'd yet) a quicker throttle response, and it seems like it got a little more torque than stock. I've seen stage 3 ST's (intake, exhaust, Dpipe, FMIC and a decent tune) push about 280whp/375tq on a dyno with a stock K03 turbo. So it all depends really.

First impressions though after owning this for a week? Pretty impressive little car for what it is. It will be fun to see what it can do down the road :)

Welcome to the club! Sadly you already have more performance mods than me. We definitely need to meet up soon though. Been a long time.

jrdellecker21 01-27-2015 10:00 PM

Are you guys going to the meet in Hershey this weekend?

Bubba Ho-Tep 01-28-2015 04:18 AM

Sweet congrats! I've been eying up these cars recently. I found a few ST-1s sitting on lots pretty cheap (18-19k). That coupled with 0% for 72 should make for a smokin deal.

I love hot hatches and Mazda is taking their dandy oil' time with the Speed3 refresh I've shifted my gaze to the Focus. PS Focus RS to debut on 2/3!

I am actually. I'm on the FST.org site as well, so were all co-ordinating. I'm surprised you knew about it lol. but then again I didnt know you had an ST. I'm PA_LE on that site.

Joey, you want to go to this? Saturday, Hershey at about noon.

Yea I def. didn't waste any time with it lol. I'm looking to do the rear motor mount and possibly an exhaust here in the next week or so. The more you do to this car to free up air and exhaust flow, the more fun it gets lol

PnS 01-31-2015 11:56 AM

Nice to see another ST owner here. This place is so dead...nice to stumble on this thread.

HatchSurfer3 02-02-2015 12:01 PM

Sorry Ben, didn't see this and didn't even know about the event. I was up in the mountains anyway though so wouldn't have been able to go.

2g Talon 02-06-2015 11:18 PM

No worries man, I didnt realize there were like 4-5 ST's in this area. there are 2 on the FocusSt.org site, and then another 1-2 on here. Posting up a pic of the cobb intake. The more I drive this car, the more I'm appreciating it. This thing is very responsive, i think thats what I love most about it.

New Cobb intake. Love how this opens up the low end torque from the turbo.

Well, not like anyone reads this **** anymore, but a few updates lol.

Since its last time here I've added a full 3 inch Roush Cat-back exhaust. Gives the car a pretty nasty sound while still saving some hope of passing emissions here.. Next up after that was the Breedt short shift arm (gotta see if I have a pic of that). Shortens stock shift by about 40% by just replacing the OEM shift arm with a lightweight one that has an adjustable setting on it. After that I went with a Cobb Acessport V3. Got in touch with the folks over at Stratified Tuning and they whipped me up a nice custom stage 1 tune to use with 93 octane. Made a night and day difference with the car in terms of throttle response, turbo output and overall torque (Probably the best $500 I ever spent). Then after that I did a new shift knob and a carbon fiber exhaust trim piece. Still up in the air about that one. Got it tinted out 20% all around, and upgraded the rear motor mount with a Torque Solutions one. It helps with the stupid level of wheel hop these have. Next have some small stereo upgrades coming soon; since I have an ST1 it has no audio capabilities at all, which is the only thing this car is lacking at the moment.

As she sits right now shes full Stage 1, ready to to stage 2 (FMIC) and 3 (cat-less DP) in the next few months. Holding those off because I need to update the tune with each of those mods (costs about $100 for a new map). So those will happen by the end of summer before I park this sucker for winter. By the time its all said and done with Stage 3 i'm looking at maxing out the K03 turbo (ballpark is about 280whp and about 310 wtq from what most have seen depending on the tweaks in the tune you get). After that, its big turbo of GTFO. Not sure what I want to do there.... ok yes I do. Plans are for the ATP GTX3071r but that is still way down the line.

All of this goodness with just a hair over 8,000 miles on it. Stay tuned for the next updates!

2g Talon 07-09-2015 11:53 PM

Video of the new exhaust. I rocked a straight pipe for a while. That was pretty hard to change out as it sounded so stupidly bad ass with it lol. This was a very nice solution to the whole situation. Enjoy!
