'37 Barn Fresh Ford Truck. She's mobile!
I recently picked this truck up, with the intentions of getting it running then selling it, but like most old cars...I fell in love with it. It is a 2 owner truck that was driven daily until 1968 when it was driven into a stone barn and parked until 2 weeks ago. The goal is to get it up and running and drivable, then just cruise it as-is for the rest of the summer, then maybe rip it down this winter for a mild restoration/old school street rod build.
Here it sat since '68 http://i139.photobucket.com/albums/q...e/DSC_0208.jpg The owner that didn't want to give it up... http://i139.photobucket.com/albums/q...e/DSC_0209.jpg http://i139.photobucket.com/albums/q...e/DSC_0212.jpg http://i139.photobucket.com/albums/q...e/DSC_0213.jpg Look at the filth.... http://i139.photobucket.com/albums/q...e/DSC_0219.jpg after a quick bath http://i139.photobucket.com/albums/q...e/DSC_0224.jpg I am now a big fan of 3M rubbing compound. http://i139.photobucket.com/albums/q...e/DSC_0232.jpg http://i139.photobucket.com/albums/q...e/DSC_0233.jpg http://i139.photobucket.com/albums/q...e/DSC_0234.jpg The engine started right up after some tune up parts, it will require a new fuel tank, as the original has some serious problems with 40+ year old fuel. More updates to come as I get money. |
wow...great condition for how old this thing is! cant wait to see what you have planned for it

Oh pleasssssse change your mind and sell it to me!!!!!!!! I've been all about late 30s/early 40s trucks lately.

Good stuff man. We've got a 1948 Ford F3. Original flatbed.
Nice pick up on that pickup. Barn finds are awesome.
very nice find.
Way to freakin cool.
Nice truck. |
WOW since 68. great pick up man, i would love to get my hands on one of those.
Nice find that cleaned up nicely.
Don't touch it put a fuel tank in it and drive it. I wouldn't have even washed it, that kinda ruins a barn find that good in my eyes.
Awesome project, and cool looking barn it came out of. Looks like it's in great condition, good find.
Nice find. In to see what you do to this. It would look good slammed with some crazy Roush engine sitting in it. Good luck with it all.

holy **** that is too sweet. i dont even see any rust except like the rear bumper. how much you pick her up for? wheres the rust hiding? congrats, thats awesome
You're a son of a gun! I'm hopefully going to be picking up a late 30s ford for a rod build this fall/winter.
that is sick! i will be picking up sorta the same type of thing although not as cool(if this wasnt a 4 door it would be close) i learned through my physical therapist(he has an all original 56 tbird manual trans, nash metropolitant covert hes restoring which is VERY rare, and a 58 tr3a his son just restored for a grad project) that a patiant has a 68 dart they bought new it was parked many years ago due to the brake line going and it is in great shape steel wheels with dog dishes and granny green paint best of all its free!! congrats on the truck you arent too far id like to come check it out sometime?
Good luck on the resto, it cleaned up pretty well for sitting in a barn that long!
almost seems like some will be tradeing up there tuners for classics. YES!!
It is going to be a fun ride. I should have the brakes buttoned up and the fuel tank installed next week, and as long as the radiator holds pressure, she'll be mobile. It takes a good picture. The truck is rough around the edges, but very workable. The upholstery is all torn up, but the floors are solid. Can't wait to drive it.
