Hp Tuner worth it?

Im trying to decide on what I want to do but can't make up my mind. Should I buy the Hp Tuner and get someone to tune it or have a shop that already has one tune it? If you have any suggestions ill always take them into consideration, thanks!

How much are you looking to spend, and do you feel comfortable tunning yourself?

Only thing is dont you have to buy "credits" or something and so many credits give you so many tunes?

I'm not sure on the going rate of hp tuners but with as many people as i know who have had it i'd get it and give yourself free range to go anywhere or do whatever you need done.

im in the same situation, if you are proficient at tuning you can make your money back in a few tunes

Hp Tuner is just about one of the only tuners im able to use since my cars a 98. Tuners for camaros are from 93-98 & 99-02, doesnt make much sense.

HP Tuners is $650... then you need WB O2. HP Tuners comes with enough credits to unlock 3-4 VINs. That is alot of money to spend for software to have someone else tune your car. Unless you want to learn to tune and plan on doing tons of mods... its probally a better idea to just take it to a shop to be tuned.

The learning curve is kinda crazy but the HP Tuners has a great forum to help you along the way as well.

Best advise I can give, don't tune other people's cars to make your money back... not worth the risk until your really good.

i saw one that was $500 i believe. I also just plan on putting nitrous and other supporting mods in the future. I was interested in learning how to tune it, i just dont want to mess anything up.

It's not really something you wanna poke at unless you sit down with the manuel. I'd rather pay 200 bucks and have someone do it on a dyno.
