yeah, so along with the geo metro in my profile I also have a couple other cars at the moment. First, this is my daily driver that also doubles as a track car because these things are so versital
Bought this car brand new in October 2004 from a dealer in MA, got a smokin deal on it. Only had 4 miles on the odo at the time. I was doing a lot of traveling for work at the time and wanted a reliable, fun car to get me to and from work in any weather. I could have made a better choice IMO. http://i61.photobucket.com/albums/h7...vo_1_FINAL.jpg http://i61.photobucket.com/albums/h7..._evo_FINAL.jpg http://i61.photobucket.com/albums/h7..._top_FINAL.jpg http://i61.photobucket.com/albums/h7..._Evo_FINAL.jpg http://i61.photobucket.com/albums/h7...vo_1_FINAL.jpg http://i61.photobucket.com/albums/h7...vo_3_FINAL.jpg These cars are really amazing. 3 years later I've put over 85k miles on the stock motor including about 200 1/4mile passes, a few hard days doing HPDE's and about half a dozen autox's without a single issue. Modificaitons for the EVO include: ECUFlash tuned by yours truely Hallman MBC @ 24psi EBAY TBE K&N cone filter MR BOV Best time with the stock turbo and the above mods on pumpgas is 12.0 @ 113 w/ 1.71 - 60' on blizzack WS-50 snow tires. I've also got a 35r turbo sitting in the garage. I had it on the car back in 06 but took it off because it was too much power for me. Maybe next winter after I learn to out drive the stock turbo and use all the power I'm making now I'll reinstall it. |
Videos of my various track events in the EVO:
10/6 - shenandoah (these vids DO NOT do the track justice, it was much harder then it looked) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1xFmexpvgVs http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1CYj8lC-9wY http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M1bZTpc_gYU http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wqS03qD3Dp8 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iz0AC5t56fw http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TQwXm_XoSDw http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hmjw8oKP0sg http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wg8MZ_uJMXs 10/13 - Ripkin 10/13 http://i166.photobucket.com/albums/u...13finalrun.jpg 10/20 - etown NJ SCCA http://i166.photobucket.com/albums/u...h_c1135210.jpg 10/28 - Warminster Philly SCCA http://i166.photobucket.com/albums/u...erfinalrun.jpg 11/11 - Ripken Philly SCCA *this was the last event of the season and also the last event the PHILLY SCCA will be having there. You have some nice rides Mark. Definitely done well!

Next up is my fun car. I got this car earlier this year after lusting over them since then came out in 01. I was debating whether or not to buy a bone stock Z06 and modify it as I went along, or to buy a fully built car with all the toys and save a bunch of money in the process. Needless to say I picked the latter.
http://i61.photobucket.com/albums/h7...te_1_FINAL.jpg http://i61.photobucket.com/albums/h7...te_2_FINAL.jpg http://i61.photobucket.com/albums/h7...06_1_FINAL.jpg http://i61.photobucket.com/albums/h7...06_2_FINAL.jpg http://i61.photobucket.com/albums/h7...06_1_FINAL.jpg http://i61.photobucket.com/albums/h7...moke_final.jpg http://i61.photobucket.com/albums/h7...acks_FINAL.jpg The guy I bought it from went thru a couple of different setups trying to get the car in the 10's but never quite made it there. I think it had a total of 3 different motors and just as many broken rears in the process. His best pass ever was an 11.0 @ 135 with a 1.9 60'. I picked the car up from him in Janurary of this year and as soon as the tracks opened up again, about two months later, I went to etown. On my very first shakedown pass I went an 11.0 @ 135 with a sissy launch: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...h_MOV01080.jpg You can see I just kind of rolled out and then whacked it. When I hit the gas the car felt like it got pulled by an F14 the way it accelerated, I'd never felt anything like that before in my life. what a rush. On the very next pass I launched the car for the first time ever and went 10.40 @ 135 w/ 1.50 - 60'. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...h_MOV01086.jpg That was done with all the proper safety equipment installed (5point bar/harnesses) on straight pump gas with me driving the car to and from the track w/o changing tires or anything. I went to a track rental later on that month and with a little more practice got the launch down and did a 10.41 @ 130 w/ 1.44 - 60'. http://i166.photobucket.com/albums/u...nboost10-1.jpg Couple other mid 10 second passes from that day: http://i166.photobucket.com/albums/u...sinboost10.jpg http://i166.photobucket.com/albums/u...stpass2-10.jpg http://i166.photobucket.com/albums/u...stpass5-10.jpg That was all done back in mid March of this year. The car was down on power a few MPH that day because the weather was surprisingly hot and humid, I figured it was only a matter of time until I get back in the right conditions and beat my ET. I drove the car around for a few months after that and just enjoyed it. In the mean time I worked out a couple of bugs that had been annoying me from the previous build. Once I got everything squared away to my liking I had the car re-aligned by RT Tuning in Lansdale and headed back to the track once more to try and beat my previous best time. On 11/24/07 I went to Atco, the weather that day was is in the low 40s and they were running their "drill-em 1/8th mile program" so the track was prepped well. I made a total of 5 passes, the first two were shakedown runs in the left lane and i couldn't hook for crap past the 330'. the car kept on getting sideways at the top of second and I was about to call it a day when I decided to try the right lane. The first pass out of the box was a 10.4 @ 138 with a 1.6 - 60'. Almost the same ET as my previous best pass but with a 60' thats 2/10th's worse. I knew if I launched the car like usualy I would be able to get a 10.20, on the next pass thats exactly what I did. 10.20 @ 138 w/1.47 60'. That was my best ET to date but I knew I had more in it as I've 60' better then that. So I decided to give it one more shot and really come out of the hole hard. The result was something I never expected to see. http://i166.photobucket.com/albums/u.../998014025.jpg 9.980 @ 140.25 w/ 1.410 60'. I had offically run a nine second pass in a 6 speed street driven car. :wiggle: The rest of the slips from that day: http://i166.photobucket.com/albums/u...estpasses2.jpg those runs, just like all the other passes I've every made with the car, were done with straight 93 octain pump gas with all the safety equpiment installed. There is also ZERO weight reduction done to the car and it has a bone stock suspension with all the sway bars still intact. It even has ice cold A/C. The car dynoed 730whp & 625wtq the next week @ RT Tuning exactly the way I ran it at the track. http://i166.photobucket.com/albums/u...unmodified.jpg http://i166.photobucket.com/albums/u...o/th_dyno3.jpg Here is an in-car vid of the speedo on one of the pulls: http://i166.photobucket.com/albums/u...6dynoincar.jpg |
picked up a set of Nitto 555RII tires for the z06, and had RT Tuning due there thing on the hunter rack.
Pics of the old stock GoodYear F1 Super Cup tires compared to the nittos. http://i166.photobucket.com/albums/u...wedding003.jpg Got a chance to try them out on 3/29 @ the NNJR autox. http://i166.photobucket.com/albums/u...h_M2U00245.jpg more to come. |
Nice to see you finally made a journal. I knew what cars you had but never knew the full story on either. I look forward to seeing them in person at some point, especially the vette. Is it ever out on the streets for some fun?

the only problem with the Z06 is that with all the power it puts down getting traction is hard to do with anything other then a true street slick like the MT ET Streets. so when I have those tires on I obviously can't drive it in the rain. but if I see a bike and want to have some fun, look out! Here is a pic of my giving it a bath with the drag pack. http://i166.photobucket.com/albums/u...t/DSC00006.jpg http://i166.photobucket.com/albums/u...t/DSC00005.jpg and this is what happens on street tires. :supz: http://i166.photobucket.com/albums/u...t/IMG_6724.jpg |
