557WHP Buick Regal GS (The FWD grand pop one)
So my last dyno was in 2008 and I put down around the low 300WHP range. To me my car seems pretty quick and I still have a decent amount of usable traction (being FWD that is). Well this other member on my regal forum in Western Pa just posted videos of his 1999 Buick Regal LS. This car was originally a non-supercharged 3.8 however in late August he converted it to turbo. The funny thing is it first put down in the low 500WHP range which I would be more then happy about. However the dyno shop suggested they try a larger K&N filter and well he ended up with a best of 557WHP. Talk about a lot of power with no usable traction I bet hah. If only our cars were RWD how much easier things be. I can't even image what it be like with 237WHP more then what I am putting down. From what I know it has heads, cam, and T67 Turbo. Its just something different that I bet you guys don't see everyday. I have been tempted to convert my car to turbo and this isn't making it any easier for me...

125mph traps are no joke. I love cars like this, props to both of you for building something unique.

Thats awesome. Looks good to.

love these cars, shame they're fwd... 260whp and 300ft/tq was way more than enough in my srt-4... i couldn't imagine 500+

I saw that last week or so on one of the W-body boards but Holy Crap. I didn't realize he has a GMR chain AND diff. That setup should be super solid even over 500 whp.

Awesome!!!

Yea it's pretty fun. I couldn't pass it up for being free with a bit of minor work needed. But the boat will get up and go. Unfortunately the aftermarket sucks. Providing it isn't raining tomorrow night I'm gonna take it to Atco for ****s and giggles.

Lol, ultimate sleeper. I sincerely hope he swapped the internals, or that thing isn't going to live long at those power levels.

ZZP that has a Twin Turbo 3800 is using the stock block (maybe) that pushed it into the 8's The fastest it has gone so far in the 1/4 is 8.56! I think the car is putting down over 750WHP. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=miWlcEfMzQ0 Now the transmissions in our cars.. thats another story. You put an intake on the car and they blow up hah. |
wow thats a sleeper would of gottin me

Geforce asked me to stop in and say Hi. Great site. Wish I would have found it a couple years back.
Thanks much. In early 05, the car originally dynoed at 148 whp on a dyno jet. We started with an small turbo kit in december of 05. The 3800 responded extremely well to FI. It was so much fun to drive we just kept at it over the years. I keep it turned down to about 490whp(mustange dyno!) so its more controllable on the street. |
There is a Regal in Utica NY that just broke into 11's.
