yea i was there that thing was hot

JohnCutter 09-20-2008 08:07 PM

This thing looked pretty damn good, up until the time some old Bon Jovi era Firebird Formula rumbled its way nearby and challenged the $100K car.

The GT-R owner smartly turned down the race claiming no can do since the oil change was 5 miles overdue or something similar.

Good quick thinking or risk being on Youtube forever in fading second place to some Smokey and the Bandit POS.

I heard about this from someone who was there last night. Everyone like made a path for this car. That Firebird Formula would have taken that down, I know who owns it and it's ****ing nuts. The owner of the GTR wanted to race until the formula owner offered a $1G bet and the GTR guy pussyed out because he all of a sudden said that it's in the break-in period. Well if you know it's in the break-in period why would pretend your hot **** and say race me, then when someone had a competitive car to race you back out.

ImportDPS 09-22-2008 09:55 PM

First off, nobody said we would race. We were there promoting our upcoming dyno day and supporting some of our locals who have kept asking us to go.

1. If the green firebird wanted to really really race, when we asked if he wanted to race OUR RACE CAR he would of accepted. I didnt think the "how much you want to lose" was that complicated to understand.

2. My boss is one of the most down to earth people in the world. I seriously doubt he was acting like hot ****. He was so hot ****, he popped the hood and mingled with everyone. Just not in his character.

3. Sorry to say this to you non track going peeps. That car runs high 9s on slicks. In the street with street radials, maybe, maybe a mid 10 second pass. The gtr off the line and on i95 would of smoked him beyond belief. You cant compare a car that was built for the 1/4 mile to a car that was built like the GTR.

He never said he would race. If he did it was in a joking matter. In all seriousness too. Drive responsibly. Doesn't matter if its a 10K Civic or $2K Nissan or $100K GTR nobody and I repeat nobody should be racing on i95 or rte 1. Its just plain stupid. Imagine if that firebirds tire exploded next to the GTR. You know the damage? Imagine that for one second there racing and some kid tries to catch up and crashes while everyone else is following. The track is for racing, not the blvd. Plus the tickets, etc, just aint worth it.

Plus...

Damn, stop spotting this damn thing. You've seen it once, you'll prolly see the same damn one again two days later.

duy856 09-23-2008 08:50 PM

this is what i hate about philly meets. when im driving by. everyone is like. "that car is slow" "ill smoke that car" "race me"

iloveturbolag 09-23-2008 11:09 PM

yea there sexy and all, for for 100k i'd rather have a street legal r34 gtr.

JohnCutter 09-24-2008 07:49 PM

Why don't they just give away trophies

as far the highway comment i think it would a good race to 175mph. does anybody here even know what's in the f-body. i heard it was a tune port car. please i may want to race him

JohnCutter 09-26-2008 09:52 PM

Very aggressive

Definitely can’t be the GT-R since it doesn’t even race.

I hear if you want to race the F-body, all you have to do is just roll up and look for some cocky S.O.B. usually chain smoking PallMalls. Goes by the name KGB I think.
