SJR SCCA AutoX Summer Series 2014. Now with more street tires!

2014 SJR Summer Series

Many of you are still not familiar with our new site.

It's huge.

It's fast.

It ain't no parking lot autox.

It's the most fun you'll ever have autocrossing.

Here's the site:
Bader Field, Atlantic City, NJ.
http://legacygt.com/forums/attachmen...2&d=1311431356

We use both runways and taxiways. The paddock area is so large that sometimes we also use a portion of it for the course, with plenty of room to spare for parking.

The size of the course is dictated by the number of entrants we get. There's no reason why we can't have a 2 minute course if we know ahead of time that we will have an appropriate amount of drivers to work the course in their off heats. That's why it is so important to pre-register for the event, so the course designers can draw up a design ahead of time. Pre-registering also helps the staff get the event started more quickly, which equates to more runs. At SJR, the organizers aim to get in 6+ runs each event.

You do not have to pay when you pre-register for SJR AutoX events, but the option to pay online is available to you. If you aren't able to make it the day of the event, you'll be taken out of the system with just a couple quick clicks. The quicker everyone is registered and placed where they need to be, the sooner we can race!

Cash will be taken at the event for those who did not pay online. The cost is $35 for SCCA members and $50 for non-members. Non-members will receive a weekend membership good for a $15 discount on a SCCA Membership, which comes with some nice gearhead perks.

Most of the autocrossers hang out in the SJ SCCA Autocross group on facebook, so join up there if you have any questions. otherwise we'll be on here sporadically.

Yes, AC is an hour from Philly. However, if you want to maximize your seat time, this is the place to be!

Here's one of my in-car videos from 2011 event #3 to get an idea of what to expect: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ELO0W3svceU

look like an awesome site, wish it was closer (2 1/2 hrs for me...)

JB'sLGT 09-20-2011 02:16 PM

It is far for some, but cars with high hp/lb ratios do well here with the relative openess of the course and the crazy amount of grip.

Just saying.

I miss running with SJ, awesome crowd.

Simmons would go. Your excuses fall short.

I use the same one, but it's not my car and/or tow vehicle.

So want to, maybe when the "economy improves"

We have the site for this Sunday Oct 2nd, so we'll be racing!

If you were already registered, your registration was carried over.

The weather is going to be 58 and sunny so come on out.

I'm just going to use this thread to keep everyone updated for SJR.

Yesterday was another great Andre design with some new course ideas fresh from nationals!

The next event is 10/16/11. The first post has the updated pre registration link.

Hope to see you there!

JB'sLGT 10-10-2011 04:06 PM

Make sure you register early!

Like I said, the more participants we get, the bigger the course will be!

I use to auto-x when it was in Millville. Anything overly deffrent compared to when it was in Millville? Also my car runs in the ESP class, is there enough people that run in ESP? I only ask because I remember ESP was usually a weak turn out...

JB'sLGT 10-11-2011 03:27 PM

Lol yes it's a lot different than the paddock at NJMP. The new site (Bader Field) is massive. Some previous course layouts at BF have required gear changes up to third.

So far registered in ESP is me and a Talon. For the life of me, I can't understand why we don't get more ESP cars. You're talking most WRXs, Mustang GTs, V8 Firebirds and Camaros, etc. Even if class turnout is weak, you can always compare your results to everyone via PAX. A high PAX finish is way more impressive than a class win.

This year, we started late in the season, well after guys started acquiring points in other regions. Next year we hope to have much larger turnouts. This site really is THAT good.

856jersey 10-12-2011 08:40 AM

Oh okay sweet. I've auto-crossed 3 times total. I auto-crossed once in a tiny parking lot some where that was run by the south jersey region, and the other 2 times at NJMP. They both had pretty tight course set ups. I'll be at the auto-cross November 13th, gotta get the car prepared and all ready. I'll be running in ESP number 47 ;) lol can't wait!

JB'sLGT 10-15-2011 10:05 AM

Pre-registration for tomorrow's event closes at 10 pm tonight, so make sure you pre-reg even if you think you're coming. There's no charge to pre-reg. There will be registration on site from 8-9:30am tomorrow morning.

See you there!

mann 10-16-2011 05:15 AM

getting ready to head out, looks like perfect weather for it today!

mann 10-16-2011 08:53 PM

My pics from today--only from the one half and even then not everyone since I had to run. Email/pm/use the contact form for high res if you want them.

Awesome course, nothing like topping out 3rd on an auto-x course, that was worth the 2 1/2 hr drive when you get 8 runs! For philly folks imagine 3 warminsters and then add a parallel taxiway and then take 50 years off the age of the surface.
