Wifi texting app?

Just wondering if anyone knows of any apps for an Android that i can use to text with my own number over wifi? Unfortunately where i live at i don't get a signal on my phone to send a text so i was hoping to find an app that uses my same number to send and receive text messages. I know there are apps that wll give you a new number to use but i don't want to have to give everyone a new number just to text me.

My old S4 was able to do Wifi calling and texting. Make sure you have all the updates.

Fyi.. I'm on Sprint if that makes any difference.

you will only find ****ty networks allowing wifi/calling texting right now

at&t and verizon dont allow it.

buy a network extender and hook it up to your wifi? they can be found for around 100-200 dollars

Huh? iMessage on iPhones text using wifi... but only to other Apple devices with iMessage turned on. For me, that's a little over 1/2 my friends, so I hardly use much standard SMS texting, mostly iMessage.

I have AT&T, works same with friends on Sprint and Verizon, doesn't matter as long as they have iMessage on. I even use iMessage when I'm in the company truck as it has a Sprint hot-spot.

for android your tied to using the regualr app to use your number...

some wireless carriers alow calls & txt over wifi however you have to have thier SW...

take Tmobile for instance...most if not all Tmobile androids will allow this....however if you root your phone or install a custom ROM, then you losse this feature.

I have a Oneplus 1, being that it does not have ANY tmobile SW on it, i am unable to use wificalling / texting.

you will be forced to have to use an app like whatsapp, or wisperpush or somethign esle.

Incorrect. Both of these use your normal number and allow texting to anyone, anywhere.

Verizon has texting over WiFi but you have to use their App. Instant delivery, not delays. Actually arrives on app faster than OTA.

Though I don't have AT&T, they appear to have an app as well:
