Test and tune
What is the closest racetrack to Harrisburg, PA that has test and tunes? Preferably 1/4 mile racing but I'll settle for anything.

If you want 1/4 mile Maple Grove would be the closest for you. They have Friday night test and tune sessions.
|
I was afraid of that. Quite the drive.

Beaver springs dragway is another option, but it's about the same mileage...and, less nice.
|
numidia? or is that too far north?
|
Maple Grove, but I'd take the drive to Cecil County
|
Numidia is probably the nicest track in PA and on test and tune days there is always under 50 cars. Last time I was there I got 24 runs in with at least 10- 15min cool downs between.

I've been going up to beaversprings.

Might try to hit up both tracks this year!

I would really suggest to break in the car first on the street. Then after a few thousand miles take the car for a DE.
Poccono Raceway is the closest. I went to a Bertil Roos class there many years ago. They might still be around. ??? But... there is another racetrack I would suggest as well. Summit Point Raceway. It is located in WVA, just where WVA meets MD and VA border. It is near Charelstown, WVA. SPR is about an hours drive outside of DC metro area. They run these track days called: FATT = Fridays at the Track. costs $250 and they will groupe you acording to your track exp. You will get classroom instruction as well and an instructer to ride shotgun with you. I used to teach there at these FATTs and it is a nice school. We even threw in wet skid pad too. Not sure what all they teach now. __________________________________________________ _________________________________________ Who would venture upon the journey of life, if compelled to begin it at the end?
