The following updated version of a previously-published rule change proposal is being recommended to the BOD by the SEB:
Replace the last sentence in 3.6.A with the following:
“Fuels comprised of more than 15% Ethanol may only be used when specified by the manufacturer (e.g. in the
owner’s manual for Flex-Fuel vehicles).”
Comment: Per the STAC, the use of E85 is becoming more and more widespread within the Street Touring category. In some vehicles it can enable significant power increases, while in others it cannot. Cars have not been classed with this in mind. With inconsistent availability across the nation, it gives significant advantage to those willing to trailer their cars, as opposed to those who choose to daily-drive them. Unlike high octane pump fuels, E85 is relatively easy to police as its use is quite obvious due to smell. Ethanol content in a fuel sample can also be tested easily in the field.
In the Stock category, there is no option to retune a car for the use of E85 so only those designed as Flex-Fuel vehicles can use the fuel anyway. This change will have no effect there.

I'm planning on just getting out there and driving again this year.

I still don't have a car that fits into any competitive class since I keep modding them....haha

I'm in the process of pulling the miata's motor to fix some oil leaks but I've got Sparco seats, fender flares, and 15x9's w/ 225's coming.

As for the WRX I moved the battery into the trunk so I'm wondering if I'll notice any difference out on the autoX course.

It won't be until 2014 that you can't run it.

True. How's availability around you? I love the torque boost, hate making fuel runs before events.

I plan on trying to go to my first event!

Nice. I'm right in the middle of two stations, 40 minutes each way. The extra power is still worth it.

Keeping Evo8
Front LSD
rear diff plate upgrade
sparco evo3 seat
aggressive alignment

in a not so far stretch, I may buy another car (something unique) so I can't be compared to the "other guy" with the same car ROFL

jeremy5000 02-13-2013 05:49 PM

I have some Sparco seats to be ordered from R/T Tuning, custom roll bar, and a whole load of maintenance (valve cover gasket, cooling system, belts, rtab pocket reinforcement plates, etc.).

You were the one who I met at the NEPA event at Pocono when I was with Andrew?

I'm pretty sure I remember you, I'm in the black evo. Khellen was there for sure. Looks like there gonna be there again this year.

My plans this year:

Coilover (BC ERs)
275 R-comps
Cams that have been sitting on my shelf for a year (GSC S2)
Be semi-competitive in NEPA SCCA auto-x, SM (prolly wont happen, I need the driver mod)

New plan. Decided not to sell the RS and put in a fresh ACT clutch, new brakes, tightened up the steering, and dropped about 50 pounds. The fun stuff will have to wait until next year.

JB'sLGT 02-17-2013 12:29 AM

Picked up a 97 m3 today. Should be in cs for the season.

IMPREZvWRX 02-17-2013 09:31 AM

CS or RTR?

CS. Trying to find another set of wheels and perhaps get a set of take-off A6s.
