Ceramic coating

anyone know where to get a blue colored ceramic coating, i checked bonehead and JNZ tuning and they only seem to carry black & gray colored coatings.

Looking for something similar to the grimmspeed coating

That's pretty cool however I don't know of any places that Power coat that color. I am guessing you can see your DP on your car because I certainly can't?

pardon my stupid, but are you looking for materials so you can do the coating,
or some place to send it to get coated?

I'm going to sound like a broken record, but Swain Tech White Lightning is superior to ceramic coating. It is more resistant to the hard heating/cooling cycles that are experienced on a street car. In addition the coating is rough, so paint ad hears to it very well.

zerioustt 04-09-2009 08:53 AM

Swain tech a company? Post links please.

cburwell 04-09-2009 09:02 AM

http://www.swaintech.com/

They are a coating company. The do everything from coating piston skirts to coating intercoolers.

RedDawg 04-09-2009 12:02 PM

so you'd suggest getting the swain coating and then applying a few coats of high-temp paint ?

In my opinion, yes. I have seen traditional ceramic coatings flake off after a while. The Swain coating is applied thicker and it has been proven to last longer and keep more of the heat inside the component.

would applying anything over the swain coating ruin the integrity of it ? (ruin the swain coating ?)

digdug18 07-12-2009 05:59 PM

i've used swaintech's coating on exhaust headers before, they're not the cheapest route, but it drops the engine bay temp 30 degrees or more. quick service and excellent customer service from them as well. I've also their turbo coatings are great, but I haven't tried them for myself.
