I am wondering if uti is worth the money and generally how much do they make per year?
A urinary track infection? I wouldn't pay for one. Just wipe the piss frontwards my friend lol.

Since you can't use the search button and figure out this has been discussed a few times on here, you might benifit from going to UTI.

I went to UTI a long long time ago, it worked out for me I'm a Ford senior master tech (which means I get all the poop work lol). Its worth the money as long as you make an effort to learn.

I made $20.50 an hr and took a paycut to be closer to home, now I make $17hr and due for a raise in June. Btw I'm flat rate too.

I went to Pennco. Learned a lot there.
I'm currently making 22/hr, slated for 2 more raises this year, and 2 more next year, then 1 more every year thereafter. Broke 40k last year, easily will be making 45-50k this year. Possibly 53-56k next year.

Don't waste your time with school. If you have a basic idea of how things work on a car you'll be fine. You don't start at a place rebuilding engines. Save some money get a nice starter box and some tools. If you're young start out somewhere like firestone or something doing oil changes and move up from there to whatever place you wanna work at.

basically i know a lot about the schools since i have friends that have gone to both and atc you get a lot more shop time compared to uti as well as better job chance coming out of atc i also work for the township that houses both uti and atc (uwchlan township) and they send/ sent all their mechanics to atc, because they know and trust they will learn a lot more from atc....

+1. Otherwise, it's a pretty dumb statement.
Having been to Pennco, and knowing people from Lincoln, I can tell you that they'd rather have gone to Pennco.
Again, no schooling isn't bad. Having a basic knowledge, and then taking it and learning even more will be far better in the long run. Yes, hands on in real world applications is helpful, but so is the schooling. I get paid when I get training here too, but I can truly say that I learned a lot at Pennco. I went in with a pretty damn good understanding of cars, and came out with more. Granted, I'm heavy diesel now instead of cars, but the differences are next to nothing.

Trust me. It's not the school and which one is the best. Wyotech is easily one of the bigger regarded automotive schools. That doesn't mean if you go there you're getting a job. Honestly the only thing shops look at is can you inspect cars and have you had previous experience. When I came out looking for a job the two main questions were do you have your inspection licenses and where have you worked prior.

Yeah I learned a lot there too. Just all that stuff that I actually did learn there I could have learned about $50k less and gotten paid for it. Don't take the business course either. Complete waste of time and money. They say it looks great on a resume but it doesn't mean anything. Take that money and jump into chassis fab or high performance engines.

Seriously. 2 years, an inspection license, emissions license, refrigerant license, and an associates degree for less than half that when I went to pennco.

Classes was right around 30k. Then the rest was money to live for a year and then some. Our classes are from 7am to 4 pm Monday through Friday. The other colleges seemed kind of half assed to me and really was it worth me taking two years to graduate and having half day classes? Not really.....I just wanted to get it over with.

I go to uti and i can honestly say two things about it.
Its worth it if you dont know a damn thing about cars, however i went to take the ase's in classes that i got a A+ in and nothing that i learned was on the test. So then i complained and asked the instructors why nothing that i learned was on the test and they told me they had a bunch of books to study that would help me pass. so needless to say i transferred to my local college which has an automotive program that is completely ase oriented.

My classes weren't half day. 7am-3pm, I believe, and then I drove to work, worked til midnight, drove an hour home, went to sleep, rinse, repeat. Worked full time, school every day, no summer vacations. 10 weeks per class, ASE oriented. The school was made to prepare you to work in the field, not be a performance enthusiast.

UTI cost about 30K but most people who sign up for financial aid end up paying only 20k. AM classes start at around 6:30am and end around 1pm. PM classes start around 2PM to like 8:30PM. I think the only advantage UTI has to other technical schools is that they have up to date diagnostic tools and work with various companies (but not all of them anymore). In the end, you will get out as much as you put in. You hear stories from people that UTI sucks and they can't get a job but that's because they didn't give a sh*t about class and wondered why there transcript looks so bad.

Depends on the tech school. Pennco's are very up to date as well, and still work with many companies.
In the end, you will get out as much as you put in.
Goes for any schooling. I had 100% attendance, graduated top of class, and got Top Technician.
Then again, you had the idiots that went out during breaks and hotboxed somewhere, then came back. I never will understand some people.
