Hey my name is AJ and i finally completed my eclipse, so i figured i'd throw some info and pics for everyone to enjoy. First of all, this is my 5th eclipse overall and my second turbo model. I looked all around for a gsx but it wasn't meant to be. But i have no problem with the FWD so away i went. I must say that 2GB dsm's are probably in my top 5 of favorite cars of all time so i baby this thing like there's no tomorrow. This car will NEVER see the track and i honestly don't care what kind of numbers it runs or what it does in the 1/4 mile. I love everything about these things inside and out so it will get my utmost appreciation.

Here's a list of mods:

PTE 5031E Turbo
Tial 35mm Wastegate
FIC 750cc Injectors
Denso 260 Supra Fuel Pump
Sperco FMIC
Full 3'' Turbo Back Exhaust
Greddy Type-RS BOV
Dejon Intake
Sparco Filter
DSM Chip Stage 3
TurboXS Boost Controller
ACT 2600 Clutch
Tananbe Lowering Springs
KYB Struts
18" Exel Fame Hyper Light Wheels
Nankang Tires

Currently i have the car set at 11psi and unless i get a change of heart it will probably stay there...i take no chances.

Basically cause it's my DD and i don't wanna do anything stupid. However it has a setup inside that i can flick a switch in my dash and it runs 20psi. Those are its 2 settings, 11 and 20psi. I've tossed around the idea of setting it at 15 but we'll have to see. Thanks for the comment!

You should recirculate that BOV if you really love the car.

The wheels make the car in my opinion, thanks for the comment. Rota Grids are sweeeeet, i just went with the cheap route and bought exel haha. And yeah i should probably recirculate the BOV.

Yeah, those wheels are sexy, perfect for silver. and +1 to recirculating. So do you have this and a white gs-t?

Nah i wish haha...i actually had a white one that got totalled last summer cause someone ran into the back of me. So i spent about 6 months looking for another one and i bought this guy. I know i had the white one as my avatar but i just didn't wanna bust this one out until it was completely finished. I appreciate the comments!

Yep I'll be sure to do that since it appears to be the concensus on here. Thanks!

Clean car. I dig it.

If you really want to know where to set the boost to, take the car to a dyno/tuner and they can help you find a safe boost limit and also something you feel comfortable with. Setting the boost to 11, 15 or 20psi without the dyno is how people get into trouble.

Yeah the car has been dynoed and tuned to settings of 11 & 20psi, which is my biggest reason for keeping it at 11. It was actually dynoed at 302HP on pump gas @ 24psi so i know it has all kinds of potential, it's just not that big a deal to me. However i do appreciate the info cause i know alot of guys just throw stuff together and completely overboost thier car. Thanks again!

Create a photobucket account. Upload the pics to there and post the links with img code around them using photobuckts generate html code button.

do you think those would look good on a maroon 2gb, if so 17 or 18?

I think they would look really good actually, and i would say go with the 18's if you don't mind spending the extra cash. It seems like 18's are the new 17's these days. I also think these would look good on your car but its all up to you:

I'll check out the wheels you posted in a few hours, photoshop is blocked at work so they wont show up right now. I am definitely leaning toward 18's I just would hate to regret it if they end up looking too big

dsm4life04
05-11-2010, 02:56 PM
I actually had 17's on my old gs-t and with the one i have now, i def like the 18's better. Trust me its not that incredibly noticeable with the 1 inch increase. I think the more important thing to how your wheels look is what kind of suspension you have.

Sberk06
05-11-2010, 02:56 PM
that is true. you're drop looks appropriate for the 18's.

dsm4life04

Yep. 1.5" for the front and 1.3" for the rear.

i like the second ones you posted but theyre to similar to stock gst rims.

I'm honestly probably going to order those grids (on the subbie) in the next week or so. then I'll need to find decent tires.

What are those rota grids going for these days? If you dont wanna say you don't have to, i'm just curious haha. They're awesome in my opinion.

Thanks joey i really appreciate it...the only thing it needs yet is an inspection this month, and beings i have no hook-ups it looks like i have to put a high-flow cat on which i'm not thrilled about but ohh well. Thanks again for the comment!

Just added a few rolling shots to the collection...gonna be putting a new supra fuel pump in in place of the walbro 255, i think it's overheating. Other than that everything is going great with this car...great reliable DD.

Very clean car, would love it even more if it was a GSX but thats because i dont like FWD lol. Any future plans for the car?

08-08-2010, 01:15 PM
Ohh yeah nobody wishes it was a AWD more then i do, but it'll have to do haha....as for future mod's i think i have everything i want done to it done. Maybe HID's for looks and possibly better looking leather seats, but for now i'm content.

turn the boost up! 20-25 tuned properly is very reliable and fun for a DD

dsm4life04

Ehh we'll see, its already been tuned for 20 and i've run it on 20 a time or 2, just not sure i wanna take any chances.

Clean ride, I had been looking for a GST for years but decided to go the AWD route with a GC8 2.5 RS. Nice ride, sits nice!

Thanks for the kind words...i personally wanted a GSX but there weren't any to be found in my area so i had to settle with the GS-T. But in the end it's a DSM and it's what i love so i'm still very happy. Thanks again.

nice very clean car, i am going to drop my car soon with a new suspension.

dsm4life04

Gonna start doing some engine bay work soon...over the next couple weeks i'm going to do some wire tucking, engine bay clean up, powdercoat my valve cover, and i'm in the market for a polished exhaust manifold cover. I've pretty much done all the performance work i'm going to do on this car. Now its time to perfect the look of under the hood. I'd also really like to get some HID's but right now i'm on a tight budget with being in school and all so we'll play that by ear. Knock on wood but this has been the most reliable DSM i've ever owned. Even with all the upgrades the car still runs like a top and it's been a great DD for me since i purchased it. I know the haters out there love to talk about how DSM's break and aren't reliable, but thats clearly because they've never owned one. This is my 5th DSM and all of them have kept me happy, this one is no different.
